MRI Technologist roles qualify for EB-3 skilled worker sponsorship and, for candidates with an advanced degree or specialized credentials, EB-2 sponsorship. Target hospitals enrolled in E-Verify
Facilities enrolled in E-Verify are already set up to employ foreign nationals legally. For MRI roles, large academic medical centers and multi-site imaging networks file PERM most consistently because their HR teams handle immigration sponsorship routinely.
Search green card sponsors on Migrate Mate
Filter by MRI Technologist roles where employers have active EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship history. Migrate Mate surfaces DOL PERM filing data by job title and location, so you're applying to employers who have sponsored this exact role before.
Confirm ARRT certification before PERM begins
Most U.S. hospitals require ARRT certification as a minimum hiring condition. If your employer lists ARRT in the PERM job requirements, you must hold it before the DOL application is filed, not after an offer is extended.
Ask your employer about concurrent I-140 filing
Once PERM is certified, your employer can file the I-140 petition with USCIS. For nationals from countries without a visa backlog, concurrent I-485 filing may be available, which significantly shortens the time to permanent residency.
Check prevailing wage before negotiating your offer
Your offered salary must meet the DOL prevailing wage for MRI Technologist in your work location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the Level I through Level IV wage tiers before you accept an offer or your employer submits the LCA.

Find MRI Technologist JobsMRI Technologist Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an MRI Technologist role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most MRI Technologist positions qualify under EB-3 as skilled workers, since the role typically requires a two-year associate degree or a bachelor's in radiologic technology. If you hold an advanced degree and your employer documents that the position requires one, EB-2 sponsorship may apply. Your employer's legal counsel determines the category based on the specific job requirements filed in the PERM application.
How is green card sponsorship through PERM different from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
Green card sponsorship through PERM leads to permanent residency, not a temporary status. Unlike H-1B, there is no annual lottery for EB-3 petitions, and most countries outside India and China face no significant visa backlog at the EB-3 level. The tradeoff is timeline: PERM labor certification alone can take six months to over a year before the I-140 and adjustment of status stages begin, compared to H-1B approval in a few months.
What does the PERM labor certification process require from an MRI Technologist employer?
Your employer must conduct a supervised recruitment process to demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available for the role. This includes posting the position, documenting responses, and filing the ETA Form 9089 with the DOL. The job description filed must reflect the actual duties and minimum requirements of your position, including any state licensure or ARRT certification the employer genuinely requires.
Where can I find MRI Technologist jobs where employers are already sponsoring green cards?
Migrate Mate lets you search by job title and filter for employers with documented EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship history drawn from DOL PERM filing data. This means you can identify hospitals and imaging centers that have previously sponsored MRI Technologist roles rather than applying broadly and asking each employer about their willingness to sponsor.
Do I need ARRT certification to qualify for PERM-sponsored MRI Technologist positions?
ARRT certification is required by most U.S. employers for MRI Technologist roles, and if it appears in the PERM job requirements, USCIS and DOL expect you to hold it at the time of filing. If you trained abroad, you'll also need to confirm your credentials are evaluated as equivalent to U.S. standards before your employer initiates the PERM process, since corrections after filing can delay or invalidate the application.
