Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Nursing Technician
Align your credentials before applying
State nursing boards set the licensure requirements your employer must document in the PERM application. Get your foreign clinical training evaluated by a CGFNS-approved credential assessment service before you reach the offer stage to avoid delays.
Target hospitals with active PERM filings
Large health systems, Veterans Affairs medical centers, and long-term care networks file PERM applications regularly for nursing support roles. Search DOL OFLC disclosure data by SOC code to find facilities that have sponsored Nursing Technician positions in the past two years.
Understand the PERM prevailing wage requirement
Your offer must meet or exceed the DOL-certified prevailing wage for your specific job zone and geographic location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the Level I through Level IV wage for the Nursing Technician SOC code in your target metro area before negotiating.
Search verified sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Filter by Nursing Technician roles and EB-3 sponsorship history using Migrate Mate, which surfaces employers with documented green card filing records so you focus your applications on facilities that have completed the PERM process for this occupation before.
Clarify concurrent I-485 filing eligibility early
Most countries are current at the EB-3 skilled worker priority date, meaning your employer can file the I-140 and your I-485 adjustment of status concurrently. Confirm your country's visa bulletin cutoff with USCIS before accepting an offer, since concurrent filing significantly shortens your total wait.
Document clinical hours to support the I-140 petition
The I-140 requires evidence that you meet the minimum qualifications listed in the PERM-certified job description. Gather employment verification letters, pay stubs, and competency records from previous nursing technician roles now, since gathering foreign employer records later adds weeks to your employer's filing timeline.

Find Nursing Technician JobsNursing Technician Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Nursing Technician role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Nursing Technician positions typically qualify under EB-3 as skilled worker roles, since the occupation generally requires vocational training or an associate-level clinical program rather than an advanced degree. EB-2 sponsorship is available if your employer crafts a job description requiring a bachelor's degree or higher and you hold that credential, but this is uncommon for standard nursing tech roles.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
The PERM-based green card route leads to permanent residency rather than a temporary status, and EB-3 skilled worker visas have no annual lottery. H-1B sponsorship for nursing technician roles is also rare because the occupation often does not meet the specialty occupation standard. Green card sponsorship does take longer overall, typically two to four years from PERM filing to approval for most nationalities, but the outcome is lawful permanent residence.
What does the PERM labor certification process require from my employer?
Your employer must conduct a DOL-prescribed recruitment campaign, including job postings and good-faith outreach to U.S. workers, before filing the PERM application. The recruitment must show no qualified U.S. workers were available for the role at the prevailing wage. Only after PERM certification does your employer file the I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS on your behalf.
Where can I find Nursing Technician jobs that include green card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search specifically for Nursing Technician openings where the employer has a documented history of EB-3 PERM filings for this occupation. Filtering by sponsorship history saves significant time compared to cold-applying and asking each recruiter individually whether the facility sponsors green cards for clinical support staff.
Will my foreign nursing technician license or certification be accepted in the U.S.?
U.S. states do not directly accept foreign nursing credentials without evaluation. You will need a credential assessment from a CGFNS-approved organization and must meet your target state's nursing board requirements before your employer can list those qualifications in the PERM-certified job description. Starting this process early, ideally before your job search, prevents the most common sponsorship delay for internationally trained nursing technicians.
