Green Card Operations Manager Jobs
Operations Manager roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which requires employers to document recruiting efforts before filing an I-140 petition. Manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare operations are among the highest-sponsoring sectors. Finding employers with active PERM filing history is the fastest way into this pipeline.

Document your cross-functional management scope
PERM job descriptions must justify why no minimally qualified U.S. worker was found. Collect performance reviews, org charts, and project outcomes that show you managed P&L, cross-departmental teams, or supply chain systems, evidence that strengthens the employer's case.
Target industries with high PERM filing rates
Manufacturing, distribution, healthcare systems, and technology operations consistently file PERM applications for Operations Managers. Narrowing your search to these sectors sharply increases your odds of landing an employer already familiar with the sponsorship process.
Search for employers using Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Operations Manager roles by employers with documented green card sponsorship history. This cuts out companies that list the title but have never navigated PERM, saving months of back-and-forth during offer negotiations.
Verify your degree meets EB-2 advanced-degree requirements
EB-2 requires a U.S. master's degree or foreign equivalent, or a bachelor's plus five years of progressive experience. Foreign credentials typically need a NACES-member evaluation before your employer submits the PERM application to DOL.
Ask employers about their PERM recruitment timeline upfront
PERM requires employers to run a supervised recruitment campaign before filing. Ask during the offer stage whether they've completed prevailing wage determinations with DOL's OFLC Wage Search and how long their last PERM process took, delays here directly affect your green card timeline.
Understand how EB-3 priority dates affect your wait
For most countries outside India and China, EB-3 priority dates move steadily, meaning your wait after I-140 approval may be shorter than you expect. Check the monthly Visa Bulletin from USCIS to track your category's movement before accepting an offer.
Green Card Operations Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Operations Manager role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Operations Manager positions can qualify under either EB-2 or EB-3 depending on how the employer defines the role. EB-2 applies when the job requires a master's degree or its equivalent in experience. EB-3 covers roles requiring a bachelor's degree. The employer sets the minimum requirements in the PERM job description, which then locks the qualifying category for your petition.
How does PERM green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for an Operations Manager?
The PERM process leads to permanent residency rather than a temporary work authorization that must be renewed. There is no annual lottery at the EB-3 level, so your petition isn't subject to the H-1B visa cap. The trade-off is time: PERM requires the employer to run a DOL-supervised recruitment campaign before filing, which can add six to twelve months before the I-140 petition is even submitted.
How can I find Operations Manager jobs where the employer will sponsor a green card?
Use Migrate Mate to search for Operations Manager positions filtered by employers with active PERM and green card sponsorship history. Many companies post Operations Manager roles without advertising that they sponsor, so filtering by documented sponsorship history rather than relying on job descriptions saves significant time. Targeting sectors like manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare operations also increases your chances.
What documentation should I prepare before an employer begins the PERM process?
Gather a foreign credential evaluation from a NACES-member agency if your degree was earned outside the U.S., plus evidence of progressive experience if the role requires a master's-equivalent showing. Compile org charts, performance reviews, and any proof of direct reports or budget responsibility. The employer's immigration attorney will need this to build the PERM job description and draft your I-140 supporting evidence.
What happens to my green card sponsorship if I change employers before the I-140 is approved?
If you leave before the I-140 is approved, the PERM application is generally abandoned and the employer must restart the entire process from scratch with your new employer. Once your I-140 has been approved for at least 180 days, AC21 portability may allow you to change to a same or similar occupation without losing your priority date, provided your I-485 is already pending.
