- Assist in the planning and execution of Suffolk's participation in industry conferences, signature events, speaking engagements, and sponsorship activations — with a focus on strategic presence as well as logistics
- Maintain systems for tracking engagement activity, relationship health, ROI metrics, and key contacts across Suffolk's association and partner landscape, including CRM management
- Coordinate cross-functionally with Business Development, Marketing, Government Affairs, and Community Relations to align industry engagement efforts with broader organizational goals
- Handle administrative functions in support of the team including scheduling, expense reporting, invoice processing, and file management
Qualifications
- 4-8 years of experience in association management, membership organizations, external affairs, corporate affairs, or a related field; experience working at or closely with a trade association, professional organization, or industry board strongly preferred
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and workstreams simultaneously without dropping the ball
- Proactive and self-directed — anticipates needs, closes gaps, takes ownership of work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable drafting professional correspondence, briefing materials, and presentations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); experience with CRM platforms or association management systems a plus
- Willingness to travel domestically to support industry events and external engagements as needed

Document your degree field precisely
PERM requires your degree to match the job's stated educational requirement. A business development or marketing degree aligns cleanly with Partnerships Associate duties, but a general studies credential may trigger an audit. Gather official transcripts and a credential evaluation before applying.
Target employers with PERM filing history
Partnerships roles at SaaS companies, media groups, and enterprise platforms frequently appear in DOL labor certification records. Search OFLC disclosure data to confirm an employer has sponsored similar business development positions before negotiating a green card commitment.
Distinguish EB-2 from EB-3 eligibility early
EB-2 requires an advanced degree or a bachelor's plus five years of progressive experience. If your background is a four-year degree with under five years in partnerships, EB-3 is the realistic starting point. Clarify which category fits before the employer drafts the job description for PERM.
Find green-card-sponsoring partnerships roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters jobs by employers with active green card sponsorship history, so you're not cold-applying to companies that have never filed a PERM. Use it to identify Partnerships Associate openings where sponsorship is already part of the hiring process.
Negotiate sponsorship terms before accepting an offer
Ask whether the employer will cover PERM and I-140 attorney fees, and confirm they have outside immigration counsel on retainer. Partnerships roles often involve long ramp periods, so aligning on sponsorship timing at the offer stage prevents surprises after you start.
Verify the prevailing wage before the employer files the LCA
PERM requires the employer to pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for your location and role. Use OFLC Wage Search to check the Level I through Level IV wage range for Partnerships Associate or Business Development Representative in your metro area before the Labor Condition Application is submitted.
Green Card Partnerships Associate: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Partnerships Associate role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Partnerships Associate positions typically qualify under EB-3 when the employer requires a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or communications. EB-2 is available if the role genuinely requires an advanced degree or if you have a bachelor's plus at least five years of progressive partnerships experience that the employer documents as a minimum requirement in the PERM job description.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for a Partnerships Associate?
Green card sponsorship through PERM and I-140 is a path to permanent residency, not a temporary status with renewal cycles. Unlike H-1B visa, EB-3 has no annual lottery, so your petition moves forward based on your priority date and country of birth rather than random selection. The tradeoff is timeline: PERM labor certification alone takes six to eighteen months before USCIS even sees the I-140.
What does the PERM process look like for a Partnerships Associate position?
The employer posts the job through a DOL-mandated recruitment process to prove no qualified U.S. worker is available, then files Form 9089 with OFLC. If certified, they file an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. You can then apply to adjust status once a visa number is current. The employer drives the PERM filing; your role is to provide accurate experience and education documentation.
How do I find Partnerships Associate jobs where employers are willing to sponsor a green card?
Most job postings don't advertise PERM sponsorship upfront, which makes it hard to filter by intent. Migrate Mate surfaces Partnerships Associate roles from employers with verified green card sponsorship history, so you can focus your applications on companies that have already committed to the PERM process for similar positions rather than hoping to negotiate sponsorship mid-process.
Can I switch jobs after my employer files the PERM but before I have a green card?
Changing employers before the I-140 is approved restarts the sponsorship process entirely, including a new PERM filing. Once the I-140 is approved and your priority date is more than 180 days old, USCIS portability rules under AC21 may let you move to a same or similar role without losing your priority date. Partnerships and business development roles can qualify as sufficiently similar, but the new employer must agree to continue sponsorship.
