Green Card Integration Architect Jobs
Integration Architect roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship when employers file a PERM labor certification with DOL. Your advanced degree in computer science or systems engineering, combined with hands-on middleware and API architecture experience, supports the specialty occupation requirement central to permanent residency sponsorship.

Document your architecture credentials before applying
Gather transcripts, certifications (such as AWS, MuleSoft, or Azure integration credentials), and project portfolios that demonstrate specialty-level work. PERM requires your employer to prove no qualified U.S. worker is available, so your credentials must clearly exceed generalist requirements.
Target employers with PERM filing history
Search OFLC disclosure data for companies that have previously filed PERM applications under SOC codes tied to software architecture and systems integration. Employers with established PERM processes move faster and make fewer procedural errors that delay your I-140.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Filter Integration Architect roles by green card sponsorship history on Migrate Mate. This surfaces employers who have successfully filed PERM and I-140 petitions for similar roles, saving you the manual work of cross-referencing OFLC disclosure files.
Clarify the EB-2 versus EB-3 path with your employer
EB-2 requires a master's degree or equivalent, while EB-3 covers bachelor's-level professionals. If your employer files under EB-3, confirm they'll support an EB-2 upgrade later via a concurrent I-140, which preserves your original priority date.
Request a PERM job description that matches your actual duties
USCIS scrutinizes whether the job description genuinely requires a specialist rather than a generalist IT worker. Make sure the PERM posting describes integration-specific responsibilities like API gateway configuration, ESB design, or event-driven architecture, not just broad software development.
Verify prevailing wage before the offer stage
Look up the applicable wage level for your role and location using the OFLC Wage Search before negotiating your offer. PERM requires your employer to pay at least the DOL prevailing wage, and a mismatch between your offer and the certified wage can invalidate the entire application.
Green Card Integration Architect: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Integration Architect role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Integration Architect positions typically qualify under EB-2 when the role requires a master's degree or equivalent in computer science, systems engineering, or a related field. EB-3 covers roles where a bachelor's degree is the standard requirement. Your employer selects the category when filing the PERM labor certification, and the job description must genuinely reflect that educational requirement to withstand DOL scrutiny.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for this role?
H-1B visa is a temporary nonimmigrant status, capped at 85,000 per year and subject to an annual lottery. Green card sponsorship via PERM and I-140 leads to permanent residency with no lottery and no annual cap at the EB-3 level for most countries outside India and China. The trade-off is timeline: PERM recruitment and government processing typically take two to four years before adjustment of status is filed, compared to a few months for H-1B approval.
What makes an Integration Architect role a specialty occupation for PERM purposes?
PERM requires that the position normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Integration Architect roles satisfy this when the job description specifies middleware platforms, API lifecycle management, or enterprise service bus design, and when comparable industry positions consistently require a degree in computer science or systems engineering. O*NET classifies this work under software and systems architecture occupations, which supports the specialty occupation argument in both PERM and I-140 filings.
How do I find Integration Architect jobs where the employer will sponsor a green card?
Search for employers with active PERM filing history in the OFLC public disclosure data. Migrate Mate filters Integration Architect roles by green card sponsorship history, so you can identify companies that have successfully completed PERM and I-140 filings for similar architecture positions rather than relying on job postings alone, where sponsorship terms are often vague or unstated.
Can I switch employers after my I-140 is approved but before my green card is issued?
Yes. Under AC21 portability rules, you can change employers after your I-140 is approved and your adjustment of status application has been pending for at least 180 days, as long as the new role is in the same or similar occupational classification. For Integration Architects, a new role in systems integration, enterprise architecture, or API development would typically qualify. USCIS evaluates portability on a case-by-case basis.
