Green Card Power Platform Developer Jobs
Power Platform Developer roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship when employers file a PERM labor certification with the DOL, confirming no qualified U.S. workers are available. Most positions require a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, making EB-3 the common path, though advanced-degree professionals may qualify for EB-2.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Power Platform Developer
Document your Power Platform certifications early
Your PL-100, PL-200, and PL-400 Microsoft certifications strengthen your PERM-supported case by demonstrating specialized credentials DOL evaluates when assessing whether your qualifications match the posted job requirements.
Search for employers with active PERM filings
Use the OFLC Wage Search to identify companies that have filed PERM applications for Power Platform or low-code developer roles. Employers with recent filings have already navigated the process and are more likely to sponsor again.
Distinguish EB-3 sponsorship from H-1B in interviews
When employers raise cost concerns, clarify that PERM-based green card sponsorship has no annual lottery and no cap exposure at the EB-3 level for most nationalities, unlike H-1B visa, which means your authorization timeline is predictable once the petition is filed.
Use Migrate Mate to filter green-card-sponsoring roles
Search Power Platform Developer positions filtered specifically for employment-based green card sponsorship on Migrate Mate. This removes roles where employers only handle H-1B transfers and surfaces PERM-ready opportunities you'd otherwise miss by searching generic job boards.
Confirm the prevailing wage tier before negotiating
Your offer salary must meet the DOL prevailing wage for your SOC code and work location. Look up the Level I through Level IV wage bands on the OFLC Wage Search before salary discussions, because a below-wage offer invalidates the LCA and delays your entire PERM case.
Request a written sponsorship commitment before accepting
Ask your employer to confirm in writing that they'll file the PERM labor certification, I-140, and cover associated filing fees. USCIS requires the employer to be the petitioner, so misaligned expectations after you start can stall or terminate your green card case entirely.
Green Card Power Platform Developer: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Power Platform Developer role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most Power Platform Developer positions qualify under EB-3, which covers professionals with a U.S. bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in a relevant field like computer science or information systems. If the role requires a master's degree or you hold one and the job duties demand that level of expertise, EB-2 sponsorship may apply instead. The employer's job description drives the classification, not your credentials alone.
How does PERM green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for Power Platform Developers?
PERM sponsorship leads to permanent residency rather than a temporary work visa, so there's no renewal cycle once you receive your green card. Unlike H-1B, EB-3 has no annual lottery, and for most nationalities the priority date queue is manageable. The tradeoff is timeline: PERM requires a DOL-supervised recruitment process before the I-140 petition, adding roughly 12 to 24 months before your I-485 or consular interview stage.
What does the PERM recruitment process look like for this role?
Your employer must conduct a government-prescribed recruitment campaign, including job postings, newspaper advertisements, and internal job announcements, to demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers applied for the position. USCIS and DOL require specific ad language that matches the actual job duties. The employer controls this process entirely, and it typically runs 60 to 90 days before the PERM application is filed with DOL.
How do I find Power Platform Developer jobs where the employer will sponsor a green card?
Many job postings don't specify green card sponsorship, so filtering for it manually is time-consuming and unreliable. Migrate Mate lets you search Power Platform Developer roles specifically filtered for employment-based green card sponsorship, so you're only seeing positions where the employer is prepared to file PERM. This saves weeks of back-and-forth with recruiters at companies that only support H-1B transfers.
Can I switch employers after my green card sponsorship has started?
Portability rules under AC21 allow you to change to a same or similar role after your I-485 has been pending for 180 days or more. Power Platform Developer roles often port successfully to related software developer or systems analyst positions, but the new role must genuinely align with the original job description. Before switching, confirm the SOC code overlap with your immigration attorney to avoid jeopardizing the pending petition.
