Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Practice Manager
Target multi-site healthcare groups first
Large physician groups, hospital systems, and outpatient networks file PERM petitions regularly because turnover in practice management is structurally high. Prioritize organizations with multiple locations, since their HR infrastructure is built to handle green card sponsorship workflows.
Verify the prevailing wage before accepting offers
Your employer must pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for your role and location throughout the green card process. Use the OFLC Wage Search before offer negotiations so you can flag discrepancies early and avoid delays after the PERM is filed.
Search sponsoring employers through Migrate Mate
Filter for Practice Manager roles at organizations with active green card sponsorship history. Migrate Mate surfaces employers by sponsorship track record, so you spend less time cold-applying to companies that have never navigated PERM for this job category.
Prepare your credential evaluation before PERM starts
If your degree is from outside the U.S., a foreign credential evaluation must confirm equivalency to a U.S. bachelor's or master's. Get this done before your employer begins the PERM recruitment phase, since delays in evaluation can stall the entire filing timeline.
Understand the PERM recruitment window and your role in it
Your employer must run DOL-mandated recruitment for at least 30 days before filing PERM and cannot submit until 30 to 180 days after the recruitment period closes. You can't speed this up, but you can ensure your resume and references are ready so the employer's audit file is airtight.

Find Practice Manager JobsPractice Manager Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Practice Manager role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Both categories are available depending on how the role is defined. EB-2 applies when the position requires an advanced degree or equivalent, and your employer can justify that requirement in the PERM filing. EB-3 covers roles requiring at least a bachelor's degree. Most healthcare and professional services organizations sponsor Practice Managers under EB-3, though candidates with graduate-level credentials and documented specialized responsibilities may qualify for EB-2.
How does PERM green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for a Practice Manager?
The H-1B is a temporary work visa requiring annual lottery selection, capped at 85,000 per year. PERM-based green card sponsorship leads to permanent residency, has no annual cap at the EB-3 level for most countries, and is employer-initiated from the start. The process is longer, typically two to four years including PERM, I-140, and adjustment of status, but the outcome is lawful permanent residency rather than repeated visa extensions.
What documents should I prepare before a U.S. employer starts my PERM filing?
Gather your academic transcripts, degree certificates, and a foreign credential evaluation if your degree is from outside the U.S. Compile employment verification letters that show progressive responsibility in practice or operations management. Your employer's labor attorney will need these to define the minimum requirements in the PERM job description, and gaps in documentation can trigger a USCIS audit after the I-140 is filed.
How do I find Practice Manager jobs where employers are willing to sponsor a green card?
Start your search with Migrate Mate, which filters job listings by employers with documented green card sponsorship history for roles like Practice Manager. Many employers who sponsor visas don't advertise it explicitly, so searching by sponsorship track record rather than job title alone significantly narrows the field to organizations that have successfully completed PERM filings before.
Can I change employers after my PERM is approved but before I have a green card?
Once your I-140 has been approved and your priority date is current, you may be able to port to a new employer in a same or similar occupational category under AC21 portability rules. Practice management roles generally fall under the same SOC classification, so a move to a comparable position at a new employer may preserve your place in the green card queue. Consult an immigration attorney before resigning to confirm your case qualifies.
