About Salesforce
Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.
Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.
Role Summary
We are looking for an exceptional Senior Director of Product Marketing to lead the strategy, messaging, and go-to-market execution for Salesforce's Small and Medium Business (SMB) segment — one of the company's highest-growth opportunities and most strategically important audiences.
This role requires a rare combination: a world-class marketer who obsesses over buyer truth, and a decisive leader who drives the business forward. You’ll own the full SMB PMM function — from narrative and positioning to product launches, sales activation, customer storytelling, market insights, and social — while leading a team of talented product marketers doing some of the most ambitious work in the company.
The SMB opportunity at Salesforce is hiding in plain sight: millions of lean, fast-moving businesses that don't need an enterprise platform — they need their best hire. Salesforce and its turn-key agents are that hire. Your job is to make that undeniable.
You will report directly to the VP of Global SMB Marketing and partner closely with Product, Sales, and Field Marketing to turn market truth into pipeline.
-
Messaging & Positioning: Own the SMB narrative end-to-end. Develop and maintain the definitive positioning and messaging framework for Salesforce's SMB segment — grounded in deep buyer insight, competitive reality, and the unique value of our full product portfolio (Agentforce Sales, Service, Marketing, Slack, and more).
-
Product Launches: Lead high-impact go-to-market (GTM) strategies for new product releases and features targeting SMB buyers. Coordinate across Product, Sales, Demand Generation, and Creative to turn launches into market moments that drive pipeline and ACV.
-
Sales Activation: Build the tools and content that make SMB Account Executives (AEs) and Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) unstoppable — pitch decks, talk tracks, competitive battlecards, objection handlers, and training. Serve as the bridge between the market and the field.
-
Insights & Storytelling: Act as the authority on the SMB market — buyer behavior, competitive landscape, macro trends, and the evolving AI opportunity. Turn intelligence into strategy, and transform customer outcomes into compelling stories that make ROI undeniable.
-
AI Transformation: Lead the team’s integration of AI into operations — leveraging Agentforce to scale content, research, and execution.
-
Team Leadership: Lead, develop, and inspire a team of talented product marketers. Set a high bar, unblock obstacles quickly, and build strong cross-functional trust.
What You Bring
-
10+ years of B2B product marketing experience, with significant time spent in SaaS or technology.
-
SMB Focus: Direct experience marketing to SMB buyers is strongly preferred.
-
Buyer Understanding: Demonstrated ability to articulate the SMB buyer's daily reality, pain points, and decision-making drivers.
-
Messaging & GTM Leadership: Proven track record crafting positioning that cuts through crowded markets and leading product launches that generate measurable business impact.
-
Results-Oriented: Focused on driving revenue and business outcomes rather than just managing activities.
-
Executive Presence: Highly comfortable presenting to CMO-level leadership and driving cross-functional alignment.
-
People Management: Experience managing and developing senior product marketers, including Directors.
-
Agility: Fast execution skills with a knack for removing friction and enabling team success.

Align your credentials to EB-2 requirements
EB-2 requires an advanced degree or its equivalent. If your product marketing background spans a bachelor's degree plus five or more years of progressive leadership, document that experience precisely in your resume and recommendation letters before approaching employers.
Target employers with active PERM filing history
Not every company that hires product marketers has run PERM before. Search DOL disclosure data for employers who have filed PERM applications under marketing management SOC codes to identify companies already familiar with the process.
Search green card roles using Migrate Mate
Filter Product Marketing Director roles by green card sponsorship history on Migrate Mate. This surfaces employers whose past PERM filings align with your target title, saving weeks of manual research into which companies actually sponsor this position.
Request a prevailing wage check before accepting an offer
Your offer letter salary must meet the DOL prevailing wage for your specific metro area and job level. Use the OFLC Wage Search to check the Level II or Level III wage for your city before negotiating, so your employer's PERM application isn't rejected for underpaying.
Clarify the EB-2 versus EB-3 track with your employer early
Product Marketing Director roles can qualify under either category depending on how the employer defines the minimum requirements. Ask the hiring manager which track their immigration counsel is planning before an offer is extended, since EB-2 and EB-3 have different priority date backlogs for some nationalities.
Prepare for the PERM recruitment documentation window
PERM requires your employer to run a federally mandated recruitment process, including print and online job postings, before filing. Ask HR to confirm whether your role will be posted under the O*NET Standard Occupational Classification for marketing managers, since misclassification can trigger a PERM audit.
Green Card Product Marketing Director: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Product Marketing Director role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Both categories are available. EB-2 applies when the employer defines the role as requiring a master's degree or a bachelor's degree plus five years of progressive experience. EB-3 covers the same role when the minimum requirement is a bachelor's degree. The employer's attorney drafts the job description to fit the appropriate category, which then becomes binding in the PERM filing.
How does PERM green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for this role?
H-1B visa is a temporary nonimmigrant status capped at 85,000 per year and subject to a lottery. PERM-based green card sponsorship leads to permanent residency with no annual cap at the EB-3 level for most countries. The PERM process typically takes one to three years end-to-end, but once your I-140 is approved, you hold an immigrant visa priority date that doesn't expire even if you change employers under AC21 portability.
Which industries most commonly sponsor Product Marketing Directors for green cards?
Enterprise software, SaaS platforms, consumer technology, and medical device companies generate the largest share of PERM filings for senior marketing roles. These employers tend to have in-house immigration programs or retained outside counsel, meaning the PERM process is already built into their hiring pipeline rather than being a one-off request you'd need to negotiate.
How can I find Product Marketing Director jobs that include green card sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to filter roles specifically by employment-based green card sponsorship history. Because many job postings don't advertise PERM sponsorship explicitly, searching by employer filing history rather than job description keywords gives you a more accurate list of companies that have actually sponsored this title before.
Can I change employers after my PERM is filed but before I get my green card?
Yes, under AC21 portability, you can move to a new employer in a same or similar role once your I-140 petition has been approved and your I-485 adjustment of status application has been pending for at least 180 days. For a Product Marketing Director moving to a comparable marketing leadership role, USCIS generally accepts same-occupational-classification positions as qualifying under portability.
