Benchmark your credentials against PERM requirements
PERM job requirements must reflect what the role genuinely needs, not what you specifically hold. Review DOL's Standard Occupational Classification for Production Control Managers and confirm your degree and experience align with the posted minimum requirements before applying.
Target manufacturers with active PERM filing history
Aerospace, automotive, and defense contractors file PERM applications for Production Control Managers far more often than general manufacturing firms. Search the DOL's PERM disclosure data to identify employers who have sponsored this specific occupation in the past three years.
Request EB-2 consideration if you hold an advanced degree
Many employers default to EB-3 for operations roles, but if you hold a master's degree in supply chain, industrial engineering, or a related field, you may qualify under EB-2. Raise this with the employer's immigration counsel before the I-140 petition is filed.
Use Migrate Mate to filter jobs by sponsorship history
Searching broadly wastes time on employers who have never filed a green card petition. Migrate Mate lets you filter Production Control Manager openings by verified sponsorship history, so you're only targeting companies that have completed the PERM process before.
Verify the prevailing wage tier before accepting an offer
PERM requires your offered wage to meet the DOL prevailing wage for your work location and job zone. Use the OFLC Wage Search to confirm the Level I through Level IV wage tier your role will be classified under, since mismatches can delay or invalidate certification.
Negotiate PERM filing timing into your offer letter
Unlike H-1B, there's no annual filing window for PERM, but the process still takes 12 to 18 months before USCIS even receives the I-140. Ask your employer to commit to a PERM start date in writing so the sponsorship timeline is built into your employment agreement from day one.

Find Production Control Manager JobsProduction Control Manager Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Production Control Manager role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Most Production Control Manager positions qualify for EB-3 as skilled workers requiring a bachelor's degree and substantial experience. If the role genuinely requires a master's degree or equivalent, EB-2 is available. The classification depends on the employer's documented minimum requirements in the PERM application, not your personal qualifications above that floor.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for this role?
The H-1B is a temporary, capped visa with an annual lottery, while EB-3 green card sponsorship has no annual cap concern for most countries and leads to permanent residency. PERM takes longer upfront, typically 12 to 18 months before the I-140 stage, but you're building toward a permanent immigration outcome rather than renewing status every three years.
How do I find Production Control Manager jobs that offer green card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically to surface jobs with verified employment-based sponsorship history. You can filter by occupation and sponsorship type to find Production Control Manager roles where the employer has a documented track record of completing PERM and I-140 filings, rather than relying on vague job postings that mention 'visa sponsorship available.'
What does the PERM labor certification process require from my employer?
Your employer must conduct a formal recruitment campaign, post the role through DOL-prescribed channels, and document that no qualified U.S. worker was available. The job requirements filed in PERM must match the actual position. Any deviation between the PERM job description and your actual duties can create problems at the I-485 adjustment of status stage.
Can I change employers after my green card process has started?
Once your I-140 petition has been approved and your priority date is current or close, portability rules under AC21 allow you to change to a same or similar occupation without restarting the process. Production Control Manager roles typically port well to related operations or supply chain management positions, but your new employer must be sponsoring you in a comparable role.
