Benchmark your credentials against PERM requirements
DOL requires your degree and experience to match the job description exactly as filed. A mismatch between your actual qualifications and the PERM application is one of the most common audit triggers for business strategy roles.
Use OFLC Wage Search to set salary expectations
Employers must pay the prevailing wage for your specific Sales Strategy Manager role and location. Look up your target metro area on OFLC Wage Search before negotiating so you enter offer discussions knowing the DOL wage floor.
Target employers with dedicated PERM filing infrastructure
Large enterprise technology, financial services, and consumer goods firms routinely sponsor EB-2 and EB-3 green cards for strategy roles. Smaller companies often lack the HR and legal infrastructure to manage a multi-year PERM process reliably.
Search for green card sponsorship jobs on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters roles by green card sponsorship history, so you see Sales Strategy Manager openings at employers who have filed PERM before, not just those who list sponsorship as a possibility in their job postings.
Clarify whether your offer specifies EB-2 or EB-3
Some employers default to EB-3 for strategy roles even when your master's degree qualifies you for EB-2, which can affect your priority date and total wait time. Ask your employer's immigration counsel which category they plan to file under before accepting.
Confirm the employer starts PERM before your status expires
PERM can take 12 to 24 months or longer before USCIS even sees your I-140 petition. Employers who delay the labor certification filing put you at risk of a gap between your current work authorization and green card approval.
Green Card Sales Strategy Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Sales Strategy Manager roles qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most Sales Strategy Manager positions qualify for both categories. EB-2 applies when the role requires an advanced degree or equivalent credentials demonstrating specialized expertise. EB-3 covers roles that require at least a bachelor's degree. Your employer's immigration counsel determines which category fits the specific job description they file with DOL under PERM.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for a Sales Strategy Manager?
Green card sponsorship through PERM, I-140, and adjustment of status leads to permanent residency with no annual renewal requirement. H-1B visa is temporary and subject to lottery selection. EB-3 has no annual cap on petitions filed, though visa number backlogs affect wait times by country. The PERM process takes longer upfront but produces a permanent outcome.
What does the PERM labor certification process look like for this role?
Your employer must conduct a supervised recruitment process to demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available for the specific Sales Strategy Manager position. DOL reviews the recruitment results before certifying the application. This stage alone typically takes six to eighteen months before the employer can file your I-140 petition with USCIS.
How do I find Sales Strategy Manager jobs where the employer will sponsor a green card?
Migrate Mate lets you search Sales Strategy Manager roles filtered by employers with documented green card sponsorship history. This saves time by surfacing companies that have completed PERM filings before, rather than applying broadly and discovering late in the process that a company won't sponsor permanent residency.
Can my employer start the green card process while I am on H-1B status?
Yes. Employers routinely begin PERM while you hold H-1B status. If your I-140 is approved and your priority date becomes current, you can file for adjustment of status without leaving the country. H-1B extensions beyond the standard six-year cap are also available once your I-140 has been approved for over 365 days, under AC21 portability rules.
