Green Card Scrum Master Jobs
Scrum Master roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship when employers file PERM labor certification through the DOL, confirming no qualified U.S. workers are available. Most openings require a bachelor's degree in a related field, making EB-3 the common path, though advanced-degree professionals may pursue EB-2 sponsorship.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship in Scrum Master
Document your Agile credentials before applying
PERM labor certification requires your qualifications to match the employer's stated job requirements exactly. Gather your CSM, PSM, or SAFe certifications alongside your degree transcripts now, because mismatches between your credentials and the PERM job description are one of the most common reasons for RFEs during the I-140 stage.
Target employers with active PERM filing history
Search the DOL's OFLC Wage Search to find companies that have filed PERM applications for Scrum Master or Agile roles previously. Repeat filers have established relationships with immigration counsel and understand the sponsorship process, which shortens your negotiation time during offer discussions.
Verify the job description meets specialty occupation standards
Before signing an offer, confirm the job posting requires a specific bachelor's degree field, not just any degree. The O*NET occupation profile for Scrum Masters lists the typical education and skill requirements that support EB-2 or EB-3 classification, and a vague job description can complicate the PERM audit process.
Use Migrate Mate to filter sponsoring employers
Search Migrate Mate to identify companies actively sponsoring green cards for Scrum Master roles, filtered by location and filing history. This saves you from spending interview cycles with employers who haven't filed PERM applications and aren't equipped to start the sponsorship process.
Negotiate sponsorship commitment before accepting an offer
Get explicit written confirmation from your employer that they'll initiate PERM filing, cover attorney fees, and commit to the I-140 petition. Unlike H-1B visa, PERM sponsorship is permanent and employer-funded, so confirming the company's financial and legal readiness upfront prevents costly delays after you've already started the role.
Understand concurrent filing to protect your status
If your priority date is current when USCIS approves your I-140, you can file your I-485 adjustment of status concurrently, which gives you work authorization and travel flexibility while your green card processes. Ask your employer's immigration attorney whether concurrent filing applies to your country of birth and category.
Green Card Scrum Master: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Scrum Master roles qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most Scrum Master positions qualify under EB-3, which covers roles requiring a bachelor's degree in a related field such as computer science, information systems, or business. Candidates holding a master's degree or higher may qualify for EB-2 sponsorship, which applies to advanced-degree professionals. The employer's PERM job description must match your actual credentials for either category.
How is the green card process different from H-1B sponsorship for a Scrum Master?
H-1B is a temporary nonimmigrant status requiring renewal and subject to an annual lottery. Green card sponsorship through PERM and I-140 leads to permanent residency with no renewal requirement. There is no lottery for EB-3 employment-based green cards, though applicants born in heavily oversubscribed countries like India or China face long priority date backlogs before filing the I-485 adjustment of status.
How long does the PERM green card process take for a Scrum Master role?
The full process typically runs two to five years or longer depending on your country of birth. PERM labor certification alone can take six to eighteen months at DOL, followed by USCIS processing the I-140 petition. Applicants born in countries with current priority dates can file for adjustment of status immediately after I-140 approval, while others must wait for a visa number to become available.
Where can I find Scrum Master jobs that include green card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search specifically for Scrum Master roles where employers have a documented history of employment-based green card sponsorship. Filtering by sponsorship history helps you focus on companies already familiar with the PERM process, reducing the risk of pursuing employers who are unprepared to file or unwilling to cover sponsorship costs.
What happens to my green card sponsorship if I change jobs during the PERM process?
Leaving your employer before I-140 approval generally restarts the process with your new company. Once your I-140 has been approved for at least 180 days and you're waiting to file your I-485, USCIS may allow you to port your priority date to a new employer in the same or a similar occupational category under AC21 portability rules. Confirm portability eligibility with a qualified immigration attorney before accepting any new offer.
