Security Project Manager Green Card Jobs
Security Project Manager roles qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship through PERM labor certification, which requires employers to document that no qualified U.S. worker is available before filing an I-140 immigrant petition. Roles combining PMP credentials, physical security systems, and cross-functional program oversight regularly clear the specialty occupation bar that supports permanent residency.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Security Project Manager
Target contractors holding federal security clearances
Defense and intelligence contractors regularly file PERM for Security Project Managers because clearance requirements narrow the domestic labor pool. Employers who already hold a facility clearance are structurally more inclined to sponsor foreign nationals with matching credentials.
Search sponsoring employers through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Security Project Manager roles by employers with documented green card filing history, so you're applying where PERM pipelines already exist rather than educating a recruiter about the process from scratch.
Verify the prevailing wage tier before negotiating
Look up your target job title and location on the OFLC Wage Search before your offer call. DOL assigns wage levels I through IV; a Level III or IV determination affects how your employer structures the PERM job description and your offered salary.
Request a PERM-ready job description from the employer
Ask your hiring contact whether the open role has an existing PERM template or if it's a new position. Greenfield roles require a fresh prevailing wage determination and recruitment run, adding six to twelve months before your I-140 can be filed.
Understand how EB-3 priority dates affect your timeline
Once USCIS approves your I-140, your priority date determines when you can file for adjustment of status. For most countries outside India and China, EB-3 dates are current or close to current, so nationals from those regions frequently see shorter overall timelines than H-1B extension cycles.

Find Security Project Manager JobsSecurity Project Manager Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Security Project Manager role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Most Security Project Manager positions qualify for EB-3 as skilled workers requiring a bachelor's degree and specialized experience. Roles that formally require a master's degree in cybersecurity, information assurance, or engineering, or that require progressive management experience equivalent to an advanced degree, can support an EB-2 classification. Your employer's immigration attorney determines the category based on the actual minimum requirements of the position.
How is green card sponsorship different from H-1B for this role?
An H-1B is a temporary nonimmigrant visa renewed in three-year increments with no cap relief at the EB level, while a green card through PERM and I-140 leads to permanent residency. There's no annual lottery for EB-2 or EB-3, and for nationals of most countries outside India and China, priority dates are current or close, meaning adjustment of status can follow I-140 approval without a multi-year wait. The PERM process does require a longer employer recruitment and documentation run, typically six to eighteen months before USCIS sees your petition.
What does the PERM process require from my employer?
Your employer must conduct DOL-mandated recruitment to demonstrate no qualified U.S. worker is available for the Security Project Manager role. This includes posting the job, running advertisements, and documenting all applicants considered. DOL then certifies or audits the application before the employer files your I-140 with USCIS. The employer bears the cost; charging an employee for PERM is prohibited.
How do I find Security Project Manager jobs where sponsorship is already in place?
The most direct approach is filtering for employers with verified green card filing history in your specific role category. Migrate Mate surfaces Security Project Manager opportunities from employers who have previously filed PERM or I-140 petitions, so you're targeting companies where the internal process and immigration counsel relationship already exist rather than building the case from zero.
Can a security clearance affect my green card sponsorship eligibility?
A clearance requirement can actually strengthen PERM outcomes because it further narrows the pool of available U.S. workers, making it easier for your employer to document recruitment exhaustion. If you already hold an active clearance, include the level and adjudication date prominently in your application materials. Employers sponsoring cleared Security Project Managers through PERM frequently have established relationships with immigration firms experienced in dual-use and defense contexts.
