Green Card Technical Accounting Manager Jobs
Technical Accounting Manager roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which requires employers to document that no qualified U.S. worker is available. Employers in public accounting, corporate finance, and financial services routinely sponsor these positions. Finding a company already set up to file is the first step toward permanent residency.

Align your credentials with PERM requirements
PERM requires your employer to define minimum qualifications before advertising the role. Make sure your degree, CPA licensure, and any IFRS or U.S. GAAP specializations are documented now, because the employer cannot tailor job requirements to your specific background after the process begins.
Target employers with active PERM filing history
Search OFLC disclosure data for companies that have filed PERM applications under SOC code 13-2011, which covers financial managers. Employers with prior filings already have internal processes and legal counsel in place, which shortens your path from offer to green card filing considerably.
Search green card sponsoring roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters Technical Accounting Manager roles by employers who sponsor employment-based green cards, so you're not applying blindly. Use it to identify open positions where PERM sponsorship is already part of the hiring plan before you reach the interview stage.
Understand EB-2 versus EB-3 before your offer
Technical Accounting Manager roles can qualify under either EB-2, if the position genuinely requires a master's degree or equivalent, or EB-3 for roles requiring a bachelor's degree. Clarify which category your employer intends to file under before accepting an offer, since it affects both processing time and your priority date.
Verify prevailing wage before salary negotiations
Your employer must pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for your specific role, location, and experience level. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the Level II or Level III wage for financial managers in your target city before negotiating, so your offer doesn't fall below the threshold PERM requires.
Factor PERM advertising timelines into your start date
PERM requires the employer to run a mandatory recruitment period, including job postings and, for professional roles, print advertising, before DOL submission. This recruitment window alone typically adds three to six months before the I-140 can even be filed, so build this into any timeline you discuss with a prospective employer.
Green Card Technical Accounting Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Technical Accounting Manager role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
It can qualify under either category depending on how the employer defines the position. EB-2 applies when the role genuinely requires a master's degree or its equivalent in accounting, finance, or a related field. EB-3 covers roles that require a bachelor's degree. Your employer's PERM application will specify which category applies, and that choice affects your priority date and overall timeline.
How does PERM green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
H-1B visa is a temporary status with a six-year cap and an annual lottery that introduces real uncertainty. PERM-based EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship leads to permanent residency with no annual lottery at the employer-petition level. The tradeoff is time: PERM requires a formal recruitment process and DOL review before your employer can even file the I-140 immigrant petition, making the total timeline significantly longer than an H-1B transfer.
What documentation should I prepare before a PERM-sponsored Technical Accounting Manager job offer?
Gather official transcripts, your CPA license or equivalent credential, and any professional certifications such as CMA or CGMA. If your degree is from outside the U.S., get a formal credential evaluation that maps it to a U.S. bachelor's or master's equivalent. PERM job requirements are set before recruitment begins and must match your actual credentials, so gaps between what you have and what the job posting requires can stall or invalidate the filing.
Which employers are most likely to sponsor a Technical Accounting Manager for a green card?
Public accounting firms, large multinational corporations with dedicated technical accounting teams, financial services companies, and publicly traded companies with SEC reporting obligations regularly sponsor these roles. Employers who have navigated PERM before are more likely to have legal infrastructure in place. Migrate Mate surfaces Technical Accounting Manager positions from employers with documented green card sponsorship activity, making it easier to focus your search on companies already prepared to file.
Can I change employers after my PERM is approved but before I receive my green card?
If your I-140 has been approved for more than 180 days and your I-485 adjustment of status application is pending, you may be able to change to a same or similar occupation under AC21 portability rules without losing your priority date. Technical accounting and financial manager roles within the same SOC classification typically qualify, but you should confirm the role matches your approved I-140 job description before accepting a new offer.
