Green Card Technical Solutions Consultant Jobs
Technical Solutions Consultant roles frequently qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which requires employers to document recruitment efforts before filing your I-140 petition. Specialized consulting experience in enterprise software, cloud platforms, or systems integration strengthens your sponsorship case and supports prevailing-wage compliance.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Technical Solutions Consultant
Document your specialized technical credentials early
Gather proof of platform certifications, client implementation records, and technical training before your employer starts PERM. USCIS scrutinizes whether your credentials match the job requirements listed in the labor certification, so gaps are costly to explain later.
Target employers with active PERM filing history
Search OFLC disclosure data for employers who have filed PERM applications for consulting and solutions roles. Companies with established immigration programs understand the PERM recruitment documentation process and are less likely to stall or abandon a sponsorship mid-filing.
Clarify EB-2 versus EB-3 eligibility with your employer
Your role can qualify under EB-2 if it genuinely requires an advanced degree or you have a strong equivalent credential. If the job description only requires a bachelor's, EB-3 is the correct category, and misclassification at filing creates avoidable RFE risk.
Verify your role's prevailing wage before negotiating salary
Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the wage level for your specific job duties and location. DOL assigns Level I through Level IV wages based on complexity, and your offered salary must meet or exceed the certified level throughout the entire PERM process.
Search green-card-sponsoring employers through Migrate Mate
Filter by Technical Solutions Consultant roles at employers with documented green card sponsorship history using Migrate Mate. This avoids wasting months in conversations with employers who list sponsorship as possible but have never actually filed a PERM application.
Negotiate job description accuracy before PERM is filed
The PERM labor certification locks in the job duties and minimum requirements permanently. If your employer understates your actual responsibilities to ease advertising, USCIS may find the I-140 inconsistent with your real role and issue a denial.
Green Card Technical Solutions Consultant: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Technical Solutions Consultant role typically qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Most Technical Solutions Consultant positions qualify under EB-3 when the role requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. EB-2 applies if the position genuinely requires an advanced degree or you can demonstrate equivalent credentials. Your employer's attorney drafts the PERM job description, and the category follows from what the role actually requires, not what you personally hold.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for this role?
Green card sponsorship through PERM leads to permanent residency rather than a temporary status that must be renewed. Unlike H-1B visa, there is no annual lottery for EB-3 petitions, and many nationalities outside India and China face relatively short priority date waits. The tradeoff is timeline: PERM, I-140, and adjustment of status typically takes two to four years for most applicants, compared to H-1B approval in a few months.
What does the PERM process look like for a Technical Solutions Consultant position?
Your employer files the PERM labor certification with DOL to prove no qualified U.S. worker is available for the role. This requires a specific recruitment campaign, including job postings and documentation of all applicants reviewed. Once DOL certifies the application, your employer files the I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. You cannot self-petition under EB-3, so a sponsoring employer is required throughout.
How can I find employers who will actually sponsor a green card for consulting roles?
The most reliable approach is to target employers with a documented PERM filing history in technical consulting, not just those who say they are open to sponsorship. Migrate Mate lets you search specifically for Technical Solutions Consultant roles at employers with active green card sponsorship records, so you can focus your applications on companies that have already run the process before.
Can my employer use O*NET to define the job duties on the PERM application?
O*NET occupation profiles are a common reference point attorneys use when drafting PERM job descriptions for consulting roles, but the duties must accurately reflect what you will actually do. DOL compares the advertised position against real-world requirements, and USCIS cross-checks the I-140 against the certified PERM. An artificially narrowed or broadened job description can create inconsistencies that delay or sink the petition.
