Translate your credentials for PERM documentation
PERM requires your employer to match the job requirements to your actual qualifications. If your degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation done in advance so the PERM application accurately reflects your education level and field.
Target employers with active PERM filing history
Pharmaceutical companies, medical device firms, and regional distributors regularly sponsor Territory Business Managers through PERM. Search DOL OFLC disclosure data to confirm an employer has filed PERM certifications for sales or business development roles before applying.
Search for EB-3-sponsored roles using Migrate Mate
Filter by EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship availability for Territory Business Manager positions across industries. Migrate Mate surfaces employers with documented green card sponsorship history, saving you from applying to companies that only offer H-1B visa support.
Verify the job description supports specialty occupation standards
PERM certification requires the posted role to genuinely require a bachelor's degree in a specific field. If the job posting says 'degree preferred' rather than 'required,' the employer will need to revise it before DOL will certify the labor application.
Clarify employer intent before accepting an offer
Ask directly whether the company uses an in-house immigration team or outside counsel to manage PERM filings. PERM audits and recruitment documentation requirements can add six to twelve months to the process without experienced support in place.
Use the OFLC Wage Search to benchmark your prevailing wage
DOL requires your offered salary to meet the prevailing wage for your specific role and geographic area. Look up your territory's wage level using the OFLC Wage Search before negotiating an offer so you know what PERM compliance will require from your employer.
Green Card Territory Business Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Territory Business Manager role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most Territory Business Manager positions qualify under EB-3 as skilled worker or professional roles requiring a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field. EB-2 applies when the role requires an advanced degree or your employer can demonstrate business necessity for elevated qualifications. The PERM labor certification process applies to both categories.
How does PERM green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
H-1B is a temporary nonimmigrant status requiring renewal every three years, with annual lottery selection adding uncertainty. PERM sponsorship leads to permanent residency with no annual cap at the EB-3 level for most countries, though priority date backlogs affect nationals from India and China. The PERM process also requires your employer to run a formal recruitment effort before USCIS reviews the I-140 petition.
How long does the PERM green card process typically take for a Territory Business Manager?
The full process from PERM labor certification through adjustment of status generally runs two to four years for candidates from countries without significant visa backlogs. DOL currently processes standard PERM applications in roughly six to eighteen months. Nationals from India and China face additional wait times due to priority date backlogs, which can extend the timeline significantly beyond the base estimate.
Where can I find Territory Business Manager jobs with green card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search specifically for Territory Business Manager roles where employers have confirmed EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship availability. This filters out companies that only offer H-1B support, so you can focus applications on employers already experienced with the PERM process for sales and business development roles.
What happens to my green card case if I change employers during the PERM process?
Leaving an employer before PERM certification is complete restarts the process with your new sponsor. If your I-140 has already been approved and your priority date is current or within 180 days, portability rules under AC21 may let you transfer the approved petition to a new employer in a same or similar occupational classification without losing your place in the visa queue.
