Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship as an Acquisition Marketing Manager
Align your degree to the role
USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation claims for marketing roles. A degree in marketing, communications, or business analytics strengthens your petition. If your degree is in an unrelated field, document how your coursework directly supports acquisition strategy work.
Target E-Verify enrolled employers early
STEM OPT employers must enroll in E-Verify, and many H-1B sponsors do too. Filtering your search to E-Verify participants signals genuine sponsorship infrastructure and reduces the risk of pursuing companies that lack the HR process to file.
Search LCA filings by occupation code
Use Migrate Mate to filter employers by DOL Labor Condition Application data for marketing manager occupation codes. This shows which companies have filed for roles matching your title, not just which ones list sponsorship as a checkbox on job postings.
Request prevailing wage clarity before accepting
Your offer salary must meet the DOL prevailing wage for your location and job zone. Cross-check the wage level your employer files under using OFLC Wage Search before signing. Level I wages are often used for junior roles and can create RFE risk.
Prepare a specialty occupation argument in advance
Acquisition marketing roles sometimes receive RFEs questioning whether a bachelor's degree is always required. Pull the O*NET profile for Marketing Managers, which shows Job Zone 4 and typical education requirements, and keep it ready for your employer's attorney.
File I-129 with premium processing if timing is tight
If your OPT or cap-gap window is closing, ask your employer to use USCIS premium processing on the I-129. Standard processing can run several months, and a delayed approval can interrupt your employment authorization before the H-1B takes effect.
H-1B Visa Acquisition Marketing Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Acquisition Marketing Manager role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the employer can document that a bachelor's degree in a directly related field is normally required for the role. Marketing strategy, data analysis, and channel optimization all support a specialty occupation argument. USCIS looks at the actual job duties, not just the title, so the job description must tie specific tasks to degree-level knowledge.
Which industries sponsor H-1B visas most often for this role?
E-commerce, SaaS, fintech, and consumer subscription companies file the most H-1B LCAs for acquisition marketing roles, because these businesses run performance-driven growth functions that require specialized marketing expertise. Migrate Mate lets you filter by industry and LCA filing history so you can focus on employers who have actually sponsored this type of role before.
Can my employer file an H-1B for me if I'm still on OPT?
Yes. If your OPT end date falls after April 1, your employer can file your H-1B cap-subject petition during the regular filing window, and cap-gap protection automatically extends your work authorization through September 30 if needed. Your employer needs an active EIN, a certified LCA from DOL, and the completed I-129 petition to proceed.
What does the DOL Labor Condition Application cover for this role?
The LCA certifies that your employer will pay you at least the prevailing wage for an Acquisition Marketing Manager in your work location, and that hiring you won't adversely affect similarly employed U.S. workers. DOL must certify the LCA before USCIS will accept the H-1B petition, and the wage level selected directly affects your offer package.
How do I identify which employers are realistic H-1B sponsors for this job title?
Look for employers with a documented history of filing LCAs for marketing manager roles, not just companies that mention sponsorship in job postings. Many employers list sponsorship as possible but have never actually filed for this role category. Migrate Mate surfaces verified DOL filing data by occupation code, so you can see which employers have real H-1B filing history for acquisition marketing positions.
