H-1B Visa Business To Business Jobs
Business to Business roles in sales, account management, and partnership development qualify for H-1B sponsorship when the position requires a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Employers file the Labor Condition Application before your start date, and the 85,000-slot annual cap means timing your job search around the April lottery window matters.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship in Business To Business
Confirm your role meets specialty occupation
B2B titles like Account Executive or Business Development Manager must require a specific bachelor's degree to qualify under H-1B rules. Review the O*NET occupation profile for your target role to verify the education requirement before applying.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Use Migrate Mate to filter B2B roles by employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications for your occupation code, so you're only pursuing companies with a proven H-1B sponsorship track record in your field.
Align your start date with the cap timeline
Cap-subject H-1B employment can't begin before October 1. Structure your offer negotiation so your start date reflects that window, and confirm your employer is prepared to file in April for the relevant fiscal year.
Check whether your employer qualifies as cap-exempt
Universities, nonprofit research organizations, and government research institutions can file H-1B petitions year-round outside the lottery. If you're targeting B2B roles at these entities, the April deadline and cap restrictions don't apply.
Request the prevailing wage tier in writing
DOL classifies prevailing wages across four levels. For B2B roles, confirm which wage level your employer filed under on the LCA using the OFLC Wage Search, and verify your offered compensation meets or exceeds that threshold before signing.
Document your degree-to-role connection clearly
USCIS scrutinizes B2B positions where the degree field isn't obvious. Prepare a written explanation linking your specific degree, such as business administration or marketing, directly to the technical or analytical duties listed in your job offer letter.

Find Business To Business JobsBusiness To Business H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Business to Business jobs qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
B2B roles qualify when the position requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field as a minimum entry requirement. Titles like Business Development Manager, Enterprise Account Executive, or B2B Sales Strategist can qualify if the employer's job description requires a degree in business, marketing, or a directly related discipline. Generic sales roles without a degree requirement typically don't meet the specialty occupation standard.
How do I find B2B employers who sponsor H-1B visas?
Browse Migrate Mate to find B2B roles filtered by employers with verified H-1B Labor Condition Application filing history. This lets you skip the guesswork and focus your applications on companies that have already demonstrated willingness to sponsor, which matters when you're working against the April registration window.
Will a B2B sales background help or hurt my H-1B petition?
It depends on how the role is framed. If your B2B experience directly applies to a specialized function, such as technical sales, SaaS account management, or enterprise solution consulting, and your degree matches, USCIS is more likely to approve the specialty occupation classification. Pure quota-driven sales roles without a technical or degree-specific component face higher scrutiny.
Can my B2B employer switch me to a different role after the H-1B is approved?
USCIS approves an H-1B petition for a specific job description and location. If your employer moves you to a materially different role or a new office location, they may need to file an amended petition. A title change alone may not trigger an amendment, but a significant shift in duties or a new worksite typically does under the Seyfarth rule that USCIS follows.
What happens to my H-1B if my B2B employer does layoffs?
You have a 60-day grace period after involuntary termination to find a new employer, change status, or depart the U.S. During that window, a new employer can file a new H-1B petition on your behalf and, if you're cap-exempt due to a prior approval, may be able to start your employment before USCIS issues the new approval through portability rules.
