H-1B Visa Cardiac Technician Jobs
Cardiac Technician roles qualify for H-1B visa sponsorship as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in cardiovascular technology or a related clinical field. Hospitals, cardiology practices, and diagnostic imaging centers file LCAs with the DOL before sponsoring, and demand for credentialed technicians keeps cap-subject slots competitive each April lottery cycle.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship as a Cardiac Technician
Verify your credential meets specialty occupation
USCIS requires a direct relationship between your degree field and the Cardiac Technician role. A cardiovascular technology or allied health degree strengthens your petition. A general biology degree alone often triggers an RFE, so gather course transcripts showing clinical cardiac coursework before applying.
Check employers' LCA filing history first
Use Migrate Mate to filter Cardiac Technician roles by employers who have active LCA filings for this occupation code. That filing history signals the employer already understands the DOL certification process and won't stall your petition at the sponsorship stage.
Target cap-exempt hospitals and universities
Nonprofit hospitals affiliated with a university and certain research institutions are cap-exempt, meaning you can start any time of year without waiting for the April lottery. Confirm cap-exempt status directly with the employer's HR or legal team before accepting an offer.
Get your RDCS or CCI certification before interviewing
Credentials from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International or ARDMS directly support the specialty occupation argument in your I-129 petition. Employers sponsoring H-1B workers for this role increasingly list these certifications as required, not preferred, which also strengthens your prevailing-wage tier under the OFLC Wage Search.
Negotiate premium processing into your offer letter
Standard I-129 adjudication can run several months. Ask the employer to include USCIS premium processing in the offer terms so your petition is decided within 15 business days. Cardiac departments with staffing shortages often agree when they understand the alternative timeline.
Understand the LCA wage level before accepting an offer
Your employer must certify your offered wage meets the DOL prevailing wage for the specific job zone and geography. Run the occupation code through the OFLC Wage Search yourself so you know whether the offer aligns with Level I, II, or III rates before the LCA is filed.
H-1B Visa Cardiac Technician: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Cardiac Technician role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in cardiovascular technology, diagnostic medical sonography, or a closely related clinical field. USCIS evaluates the degree-to-role relationship case by case. If your employer's job description lists a degree as preferred rather than required, that wording can undermine the specialty occupation argument and should be corrected before the I-129 is filed.
Which employers sponsor H-1B visas for Cardiac Technician jobs?
Large health systems, academic medical centers, and cardiology-focused outpatient practices are the most consistent sponsors. Nonprofit hospitals affiliated with universities often qualify as cap-exempt, allowing year-round filing outside the April lottery. You can search Cardiac Technician roles filtered by verified LCA filing history on Migrate Mate to identify employers who have sponsored this occupation before.
How does the H-1B lottery affect Cardiac Technician applicants?
Cap-subject petitions are entered in the annual lottery each March for an October 1 start date, with 65,000 regular-cap slots and 20,000 reserved for U.S. master's degree holders. If your employer is a qualifying nonprofit hospital or university, the cap doesn't apply and you can file at any point in the year. Confirm cap-exempt status with your employer before building your timeline around an October start.
What credentials strengthen an H-1B petition for a Cardiac Technician?
Certifications from Cardiovascular Credentialing International or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography directly support the specialty occupation requirement because they demonstrate the role demands specialized knowledge. USCIS also looks favorably on a degree transcript showing cardiac-specific clinical coursework. If your degree is from outside the U.S., a credential evaluation from a NACES-member organization is typically required.
Can a Cardiac Technician change employers while on H-1B status?
Yes. Under AC21 portability rules, you can transfer to a new employer once your I-129 has been pending for 180 days or more and the new role is in the same or a substantially similar occupational classification. Your new employer must file an H-1B transfer petition before your current status expires. The 60-day grace period after your end date gives limited time to secure the transfer filing.
