Align your degree to the SOC code
Continuous Improvement Manager petitions are typically filed under SOC 11-1021 or 17-2112. Confirm your degree field maps directly to the code your employer uses, a mismatch between degree and SOC is a common RFE trigger for this role.
Search LCA filings by job title
Use Migrate Mate to filter employer LCA filing history specifically for Continuous Improvement Manager roles. This shows you which companies have already filed for this exact title, so you target sponsors with a documented track record rather than guessing.
Verify prevailing wage before accepting offers
Look up the Level I through Level IV wage range for your SOC code and work location using the OFLC Wage Search before you negotiate. Your offered salary must meet the certified LCA wage or USCIS will issue an RFE or denial.
Document Lean and Six Sigma credentials formally
USCIS adjudicators scrutinize whether Continuous Improvement Manager qualifies as a specialty occupation. Include your Lean Six Sigma certification, project charters, and any academic transcripts that show theoretical grounding, not just on-the-job experience.
Target E-Verify enrolled manufacturers and health systems
STEM-adjacent operations roles are concentrated in manufacturing and healthcare. Employers already enrolled in E-Verify are operationally familiar with employment verification compliance, which correlates with H-1B filing readiness for roles like this one.
Confirm cap-exempt employer eligibility early
Hospitals, university health systems, and nonprofit research organizations can file H-1B petitions outside the annual cap. If you're targeting healthcare operations roles, ask HR directly whether the entity qualifies, cap-exempt filings have no lottery and no April deadline.

Find Continuous Improvement Manager JobsContinuous Improvement Manager H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Continuous Improvement Manager role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the employer can show the position normally requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as industrial engineering, operations management, or business administration. Roles that accept any degree or substitute pure experience for education are harder to defend. Your job description and employer's internal requirements both matter when USCIS evaluates the petition.
Which employers sponsor H-1B visas for Continuous Improvement Manager positions?
Manufacturers, hospital networks, logistics companies, and large consumer goods firms are the most active H-1B sponsors for this title. Migrate Mate lets you filter employers by LCA filing history for Continuous Improvement Manager roles specifically, so you can see which companies have filed for this position rather than relying on general sponsorship reputation.
Can I transfer my H-1B to a new Continuous Improvement Manager role mid-year?
Yes. Under H-1B portability, you can start working for a new employer as soon as they file a new I-129 petition, without waiting for approval, as long as your previous H-1B was approved and you haven't been out of status. The new employer must file a fresh LCA for the specific role and location before submitting the transfer petition to USCIS.
Does a Lean Six Sigma certification help with H-1B approval for this role?
It strengthens the petition indirectly. USCIS focuses on whether the role requires a theoretical and practical application of a body of highly specialized knowledge, and a recognized certification like Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt supports that argument. It's most useful when paired with a directly related degree, not as a substitute for one.
How does prevailing wage work for Continuous Improvement Manager H-1B petitions?
Your employer certifies through the DOL that your offered salary meets or exceeds the prevailing wage for your occupation, level, and work location. The wage is tied to the SOC code your employer selects for the role. You can verify the applicable wage level using the OFLC Wage Search before your offer is finalized. Paying below the certified wage is a compliance violation that can jeopardize your status.
