H-1B Visa Developer Relations Jobs
Developer Relations roles sit at the intersection of engineering and advocacy, and most hiring companies treat them as specialty occupation positions eligible for H-1B sponsorship. Your degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field is the credential that anchors the petition. Sponsoring employers file the LCA with DOL before USCIS reviews your I-129.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Global Account Manager, Developer Relations, you'll lead several strategic ISV partnerships in the Manufacturing & Industrial sectors. You will work with product teams across NVIDIA and the partner to drive the integration of NVIDIA's libraries, open models, and frameworks into partner platforms, aligning with their long-term business and technical goals. This highly visible position aligns with our product organization to deliver joint solutions that move the needle and with our enterprise go-to-market (GTM) organization to drive mutual success. The ideal candidate brings an outstanding blend of domain and ecosystem expertise in industrial automation and manufacturing software, a deep passion for developer advocacy, and strong technical account management experience!
What you'll be doing:
- Lead several strategic ISV partnerships in Manufacturing & Industrial sectors, driving adoption of NVIDIA software libraries, open models, and frameworks across business, product, and engineering teams.
- Accelerate critical workloads by demonstrating and integrating the NVIDIA software stack (libraries, models, SDKs, NIMs, and blueprints) into ISV partner products, platforms, and pipelines. Guide partners through onboarding and integration by bringing NVIDIA's DevTech, SA, and Product engineering resources to accelerate adoption and develop co-engineering of next-generation solutions.
- Engage ISV partner technical leaders to drive best-practice integrations and resolve technical challenges, using regular syncs to track adoption, surface new workflows, and channel critical field insights back to NVIDIA product teams.
- Build positive relationships with executive and technical participants across partner organizations — from C-suite sponsors to the developers building production software.
- Promote NVIDIA software within ISV executive leadership, architect, and developer communities, driving early adoption of new tools, libraries, SDKs, NIMs, and blueprints.
- Identify integration opportunities to deliver differentiated solutions and unique value propositions through strategic partners — particularly in AI-enabled process optimization, digital twins, predictive maintenance, and robot orchestration.
- Champion ISV needs and perspectives within NVIDIA, influencing product strategy and go-to-market initiatives.
- Act as NVIDIA's PIC (Pilot in Command) to lead multi-functional teams — including product management, engineering, solutions architects, developer relations, marketing, legal, sales, and ecosystem teams — ensuring partnership success.
- Collaborate with GTM teams to incubate partnerships and deliver early joint wins with ISV partners and their shared end customers in discrete and process manufacturing.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s in engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 12+ years of overall professional experience in the technology industry in developer relations, product management, technical partnerships, or solutions architecture, including 5+ years of direct hands-on experience in industrial automation or manufacturing software.
- Deep experience working at or alongside major industrial automation, MES, or manufacturing software vendors (e.g., Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Honeywell, Emerson, PTC, AVEVA, Dassault Systèmes)
- Deep understanding of industrial automation ecosystems — PLCs, SCADA, MES, DCS, OT/IT convergence — and the software stack that runs them.
- Hands-on experience applying AI in manufacturing or industrial automation contexts, including digital twins, computer vision, predictive analytics, or robotics
- Structure and implement technical engagements, negotiate requirements, prioritize issues, and collaborate with internal and external partners across sales, legal, product, and marketing teams.
- Outstanding ability to distill sophisticated technical concepts and articulate value propositions to audiences ranging from plant floor engineers to C-suite executives, with end-to-end experience defining, integrating, building, and bringing solutions to market with strategic ISV partners.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with NVIDIA software libraries and platforms (e.g., CUDA-X, NIMs, NeMo, PhysicsNeMo, Omniverse, Cosmos).
- Self-starter with a demeanor for growth and continuous learning.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship in Developer Relations
Match your degree to the role
Developer Relations is classified under technical occupations requiring a directly related bachelor's degree. If your degree is in a non-technical field, document any computer science coursework and gather evaluation letters before the LCA stage to avoid an RFE.
Search LCA filings by SOC code
Developer Relations roles are typically filed under SOC code 15-1299 or 11-9041. Use the OFLC Wage Search to identify which employers have certified LCAs for those codes in your target metro, giving you a verified list of active sponsors.
Target companies with dedicated developer programs
Employers running active developer programs, SDKs, or open-source ecosystems file H-1B petitions for DevRel roles regularly. On Migrate Mate, you can filter by occupation and sponsorship history to surface companies with a documented track record for this title.
Verify the specialty occupation argument early
USCIS scrutinizes DevRel petitions more than pure engineering roles because the job blends communication with technical work. Ask your employer's legal team to confirm the job description ties every duty back to a specific technical discipline before the I-129 is drafted.
Check prevailing wage for your specific metro
Developer Relations wages vary sharply between wage levels and metros. Run your SOC code and location through the OFLC Wage Search before finalizing your offer so you know whether the offered salary clears the Level I or Level II threshold DOL will certify.

Find Developer Relations JobsDeveloper Relations H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Developer Relations role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
Yes, if the job description requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field such as computer science, software engineering, or electrical engineering. The challenge is that DevRel duties often include community and communication work, so the employer's legal team must frame every core duty around that technical foundation. A vague job description is the most common reason USCIS issues an RFE for this title.
Which employers sponsor H-1B visas for Developer Relations jobs?
Companies with active developer ecosystems, such as cloud platform providers, API-first software companies, and developer tooling firms, are the most consistent H-1B sponsors for DevRel roles. You can browse employers with verified H-1B filing history for technical advocacy and developer relations positions on Migrate Mate, which surfaces DOL Labor Condition Application data by occupation and employer.
Can I switch from an H-1B in a software engineering role to Developer Relations at the same employer?
A material change in job duties, title, or work location requires your employer to file an amended I-129 petition before you move into the new role. If the SOC code changes alongside the title shift, the amended petition must include a new LCA certified by DOL at the wage level for the DevRel classification. Moving into the role before the amendment is filed risks a status violation.
How does the H-1B lottery affect Developer Relations job seekers?
Developer Relations roles subject to the annual cap enter the same lottery as all other cap-subject H-1B petitions, with 65,000 slots plus 20,000 for U.S. master's degree holders. If your employer is a university, nonprofit research institution, or government research organization, the cap exemption applies and the lottery doesn't affect your petition. USCIS publishes updated registration and selection timelines each fiscal year cycle.
What documentation should I prepare before an employer files my H-1B petition for a DevRel role?
Gather your academic transcripts, diploma, and any third-party credential evaluation if your degree is from outside the U.S. Because DevRel sits at the boundary of technical and non-technical work, a detailed letter from your academic advisor or a credential evaluator connecting your degree field to your specific job duties strengthens the specialty occupation argument. Portfolio materials showing technical content you've authored, such as API documentation or code samples, can also support the petition.
