Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship in Expeditor
Verify your degree supports specialty occupation
USCIS requires your degree field to directly relate to expediting duties. A supply chain management, industrial engineering, or operations degree strengthens your case. A general business degree alone may trigger an RFE, so gather documentation connecting your coursework to the role.
Use O*NET to frame your job duties
Pull the Expeditor occupation profile from O*NET and map your actual job duties to its listed tasks and required knowledge areas. This alignment helps your employer write a job description that satisfies USCIS specialty occupation standards during LCA and I-129 filing.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search Migrate Mate to identify companies that have filed LCAs for Expeditor or closely related supply chain roles. Employers with recent filing history have established internal processes for H-1B sponsorship, which reduces approval delays and back-and-forth with HR.
Check prevailing wage levels before negotiating
Run your occupation code and work location through the OFLC Wage Search before salary discussions. Your employer's LCA must certify a wage at or above the prevailing level. Knowing the Level I through Level IV thresholds lets you negotiate without inadvertently pricing yourself out of sponsorship.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment before accepting an offer
Your employer must be enrolled in E-Verify to sponsor an H-1B. Ask HR to confirm enrollment status before you enter contract negotiations. Some mid-size manufacturers and distributors actively use Expeditors but have never filed an H-1B and may not realize E-Verify enrollment is required.
File the LCA well before cap registration opens
DOL typically certifies LCAs within seven business days, but employer delays in drafting the filing can push you past the March registration window. Push your employer to start the LCA process in January so there's buffer time before USCIS opens H-1B cap registration.
H-1B Visa Expeditor: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Expeditor role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
It depends on how the position is defined. USCIS requires that the role normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. An Expeditor role tied to supply chain systems, procurement analytics, or production scheduling can qualify, especially when the employer documents that a degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or operations is standard for the position. Generic coordination roles with no degree requirement typically don't qualify.
Which industries sponsor H-1B visas for Expeditor positions most often?
Aerospace and defense manufacturers, automotive suppliers, construction firms managing complex procurement, and large-scale electronics manufacturers are the most consistent sponsors for Expeditor roles. These industries run high-volume, time-sensitive supply chains where degree-level supply chain expertise is standard. You can filter by industry on Migrate Mate to find employers in these sectors with verified LCA filing history for expediting and logistics roles.
Can my employer sponsor my H-1B if they've never filed before?
Yes, first-time sponsors can file H-1B petitions. The employer needs to register with USCIS, obtain a Federal Employer Identification Number, enroll in E-Verify, and work with an immigration attorney to prepare the LCA and I-129 petition. The process adds several weeks of internal preparation, so first-time sponsors need more lead time than companies with established immigration programs.
What happens to my H-1B status if my Expeditor role changes after sponsorship?
Material changes to your job duties, work location, or salary can require an amended H-1B petition filed with USCIS before the change takes effect. Moving to a different worksite in a new metropolitan statistical area almost always requires a new LCA and an amended petition. Minor duty adjustments that stay within the original specialty occupation definition typically don't require amendment, but your employer's immigration counsel should make that call.
How do I find Expeditor jobs where the employer is already set up to sponsor H-1B visas?
The most reliable approach is to focus on employers with documented LCA filing history for supply chain and operations roles rather than relying on job postings that may not disclose sponsorship willingness. Migrate Mate surfaces employers with verified DOL Labor Condition Application data, so you can see which companies have actively sponsored roles in your occupation before reaching out or applying.
