Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship in Supply Chain Operations
Align your degree to the role
H-1B eligibility hinges on a direct connection between your degree field and the job duties. A degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or operations research maps cleanly. A general business degree may require supporting documentation from your employer.
Check LCA filings before applying
Use the OFLC Wage Search to confirm that a company has filed Labor Condition Applications for supply chain roles in your target location. Prior LCA filings show the employer has an established H-1B sponsorship process for your occupation.
Search verified sponsors on Migrate Mate
Filter supply chain operations roles on Migrate Mate to surface employers with documented H-1B filing history. You'll see which companies actively sponsor this occupation, so you're not guessing from a generic job listing.
Negotiate premium processing before filing
USCIS premium processing cuts adjudication to 15 business days. For supply chain hires tied to product launches or fiscal-year planning cycles, ask your hiring manager to include premium processing in the offer terms before you accept.
Get your SOC code confirmed in writing
Supply chain operations spans several Standard Occupational Classification codes, including logistics managers and operations research analysts. Ask your employer which SOC code they'll use on the LCA, since the prevailing wage requirement differs significantly by code.
Prepare project documentation for an RFE
USCIS sometimes issues Requests for Evidence challenging whether a supply chain role qualifies as a specialty occupation. Compile project briefs, system specs, or vendor contracts that show your work requires specialized analytical or engineering knowledge, not generalist management.
H-1B Visa Supply Chain Operations: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Supply Chain Operations roles qualify as H-1B specialty occupations?
Yes, when the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific related field such as supply chain management, industrial engineering, operations research, or logistics. Roles focused on demand planning, inventory optimization, or procurement analytics typically meet the specialty occupation standard. General coordinator positions with no degree requirement may not qualify.
Which employers sponsor H-1B visas for Supply Chain Operations jobs?
Manufacturers, large retailers, third-party logistics firms, and technology companies with physical fulfillment operations are the most active H-1B sponsors for supply chain roles. You can find employers with verified H-1B filing history for this occupation on Migrate Mate, which surfaces DOL Labor Condition Application data by job title and location.
How does the H-1B prevailing wage apply to Supply Chain Operations positions?
Your employer must pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for your specific occupational title and work location before USCIS will certify the LCA. Supply chain roles can fall under multiple SOC codes with meaningfully different wage levels. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the prevailing wage for your exact title in your metro area before negotiating your offer.
Can I transfer my H-1B to a new Supply Chain Operations employer?
Yes. Under H-1B portability rules, you can begin working for a new employer as soon as they file a transfer petition, without waiting for USCIS approval, provided your current H-1B was previously approved and you've maintained valid status. Your new employer must still file a certified LCA for the new role before submitting the transfer petition.
What happens to my H-1B if my Supply Chain role is reclassified or restructured?
A material change in job duties, location, or SOC code requires your employer to file an amended H-1B petition before the change takes effect. Moving from a site-specific role to a multi-location or remote arrangement, or shifting from logistics coordination to procurement analysis, typically triggers an amendment. Skipping this step puts your status at risk.
