The Opportunity
Nutanix is hiring an experienced Field Marketing Manager to join our U.S. Federal Marketing team. Top candidates are passionate about helping their team achieve revenue goals and will have a track record of proactively architecting and owning execution of strategic demand generation programs.
This role requires a unique blend of operational excellence and creative strategy. You aren't just reacting to requests; you are anticipating stakeholder needs, leveraging AI to accelerate workflows, and delivering high-ROI results with precision.
Your Role
Operational Excellence: Own the full project lifecycle. You are responsible for the proactive management of deadlines and the delivery of complete, accurate reports. You don't just "hit" deadlines; you manage them with foresight to avoid reactionary "fulfillment mode."
AI-Enhanced Strategy: Seamlessly integrate AI tools (e.g., Gemini, NotebookLM, Copilot) into your daily workflow to streamline content creation, analyze market data, and automate repetitive project management tasks.
Diverse Program Design: Develop, execute, and manage a creative mix of marketing programs—ranging from ABM and executive roundtables to large-scale industry events—ensuring the highest possible ROI for every dollar invested.
Collaborative Leadership: Act as a trusted advisor to Federal Sales and SE stakeholders. You must work effectively as an independent owner while maintaining deep alignment with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
What You Will Bring
Specific Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Develop and own the quarterly Federal marketing plan. Use data-driven insights and AI analysis to forecast demand and align with territory pipeline needs.
- Communications: Ensure a high level of awareness and adoption of marketing resources by sales stakeholders. Communicate field-level insights back to corporate to ensure messaging resonates with the Federal audience.
- Results & ROI: Meet/exceed quarterly metrics. Track lead flow and measure ROI with meticulous accuracy, using AI-driven analytics to refine and improve outcomes.
- Execution & Event Management: Manage all industry and regional events (seminars, webinars, tradeshows). You are responsible for the "full stack" of the event: pre-event planning, flawless execution, and proactive post-event follow-up.
- Budget Management: Establish and proactively manage the field marketing budget. Be vigilant in tracking and effective in spend, ensuring zero waste.
Minimum Requirements
- Federal Experience: 5–7 years of experience marketing B2B enterprise technology to U.S. Federal audiences. Understanding of cloud and virtualization is a significant plus.
- AI Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to use Generative AI tools (Gemini, Copilot, etc.) to enhance productivity, draft marketing collateral, and perform data analysis.
- Proactive Project Management: Exceptional negotiation and decision-making skills. Proven ability to anticipate needs and work ahead of schedule rather than reacting to it.
- Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills (writing samples required).
- Technical Stack: Working knowledge of Salesforce.com and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
- Travel: Modest travel (up to 25%).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship as a Field Marketing Manager
Verify your role meets specialty occupation requirements
Pull the O*NET profile for Marketing Managers and confirm your job description requires a specific bachelor's degree, not just any degree. Generic language like 'degree preferred' weakens your H-1B petition and invites RFEs.
Check employer LCA history before applying
Use Migrate Mate to filter Field Marketing Manager roles by verified LCA filing history, so you're only targeting employers who have actually sponsored this job title before, not just those who say they're open to it.
Align your resume to the prevailing wage tier
Run the OFLC Wage Search for your target metro area under the Marketing Managers SOC code. If your experience aligns with Level III or IV, make that explicit in your resume so employers can file the LCA at the correct wage tier.
Target companies enrolled in E-Verify early
STEM OPT extensions require E-Verify enrollment, and many H-1B-ready employers are already enrolled. Confirming enrollment before your final interview round avoids a late-stage sponsorship complication if you're bridging from OPT.
Time your offer acceptance around the cap deadline
H-1B registration opens in March for an October 1 start. If you receive an offer in late spring, clarify with the employer whether they'll file in the current cycle or hold until next year's lottery window.
Document cross-functional work to support your petition
Field marketing sits between sales, product, and demand generation. Your employer's attorney will need to tie your duties to a specific degree field. Gather samples showing campaign strategy, budget ownership, and pipeline metrics before the petition is drafted.
H-1B Visa Field Marketing Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Field Marketing Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
Yes, provided the employer's job description requires a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or a directly related field. The specialty occupation standard means the degree requirement must be specific to the role. If the posting says any degree is acceptable, USCIS may issue an RFE challenging whether the position qualifies. Reviewing the O*NET profile for Marketing Managers helps confirm the degree requirement before you apply.
Which industries sponsor H-1B visas most consistently for Field Marketing Manager positions?
Technology, enterprise SaaS, cybersecurity, and cloud infrastructure companies file the most LCAs for field marketing titles because their sales cycles and partner ecosystems depend heavily on regional marketing programs. Professional services and healthcare IT also sponsor regularly. You can browse verified H-1B sponsoring employers in this role on Migrate Mate, which surfaces LCA filing data by job title and location.
How does the prevailing wage requirement affect Field Marketing Manager offers?
Before filing your H-1B petition, your employer must certify an LCA with DOL confirming your offered salary meets the prevailing wage for your SOC code and work location. Field marketing roles in major metros like San Francisco, New York, or Seattle carry higher prevailing wage levels than smaller markets. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up current wage levels for Marketing Managers in your target city before negotiating your offer.
What happens to my H-1B if my employer restructures or eliminates the field marketing team?
You have a 60-day grace period from the date your employment ends to find a new sponsoring employer and have a new H-1B petition filed on your behalf. If the new employer is cap-exempt or you've already been counted against the cap in a prior fiscal year, portability under AC21 may also apply. Act immediately when you learn of a layoff because the 60-day window doesn't extend for any reason.
Can a smaller regional company sponsor an H-1B for a Field Marketing Manager?
Yes. There's no employee count or revenue threshold that disqualifies a company from sponsoring H-1B workers. The employer must pay the required filing fees, meet the prevailing wage, and file a certified LCA before submitting the I-129 petition to USCIS. Smaller companies sometimes use outside immigration counsel for the first time when sponsoring, so asking about their prior H-1B filing experience during the offer stage is a practical step.
