Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship as a Field Operations Coordinator
Document your degree's operational relevance
Your degree field must connect directly to field operations management. A business administration or industrial engineering degree typically satisfies the specialty occupation requirement. If your degree is in an unrelated field, gather coursework transcripts showing supply chain, logistics, or operations coursework to support your case.
Target employers with active LCA filings
Search the OFLC Wage Search for Labor Condition Applications filed under SOC code 11-1021 or 13-1081 to find companies already sponsoring coordinators. Employers with recent certified LCAs have cleared the DOL compliance process and are far more likely to sponsor again quickly.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsors
Filter Field Operations Coordinator roles on Migrate Mate by employers with confirmed H-1B filing history. This cuts out companies that advertise broadly but have never sponsored, so you spend your time on employers who've already navigated the LCA and I-129 process for this role type.
Ask about cap-exempt employer eligibility
Nonprofits, government research entities, and higher education institutions are cap-exempt, meaning they can file an H-1B petition outside the annual lottery window. Field operations roles at hospital systems or university facilities departments sometimes qualify, giving you year-round petition filing options.
Negotiate offer timing around the April filing window
USCIS opens H-1B registration each March for an October 1 start date. If your offer comes in late spring or summer, you'll wait nearly a year before your petition can be filed. Push for an offer letter by February so your employer can register you in the March lottery window.
Verify your employer's E-Verify enrollment before accepting
STEM OPT bridge strategies and certain cap-exempt pathways require E-Verify enrollment. Confirm enrollment status directly with HR before signing an offer. An employer not enrolled in E-Verify can still sponsor H-1B petitions, but it closes off specific interim work authorization options while your petition is pending.

Find Field Operations Coordinator JobsField Operations Coordinator H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Field Operations Coordinator role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
It depends on how the employer defines the position. USCIS requires that the role normally demands at least a bachelor's degree in a specific, directly related field. A coordinator role tied to supply chain systems, logistics engineering, or operations management with a required degree in those fields qualifies. A generalist coordinator role that accepts any bachelor's degree is harder to support and may face a Request for Evidence.
Which employers sponsor H-1B visas for Field Operations Coordinator positions?
Large logistics companies, manufacturing firms, utilities, and healthcare systems are the most active sponsors for operations coordinator roles. You can verify actual sponsorship history by checking DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data for relevant SOC codes. Migrate Mate surfaces this filing history by employer so you can identify which companies have sponsored comparable roles before applying.
Can my employer file an H-1B petition for me if I'm currently on OPT?
Yes, and timing is critical. Your employer must register you in the March H-1B lottery for an October 1 start date. If your OPT expires before October 1 and you have a STEM-eligible degree, a 24-month STEM OPT extension can bridge the gap. Your employer needs to be enrolled in E-Verify for the STEM extension to be valid.
What prevailing wage level applies to Field Operations Coordinator H-1B petitions?
The DOL assigns prevailing wages based on the SOC code your employer uses in the Labor Condition Application, the job location, and the level of supervision and complexity involved. Coordinators with limited autonomy often land at Level I or II. You can look up the applicable wage for your specific city and SOC code using the OFLC Wage Search before your offer conversation.
How long does H-1B sponsorship take for a Field Operations Coordinator role?
The DOL certifies the Labor Condition Application within seven working days in most cases. USCIS standard processing for the I-129 petition currently runs several months, though premium processing reduces that to 15 business days for an additional fee. If you're selected in the lottery with an October 1 start date, the full timeline from registration to work authorization is roughly six to seven months.
