H-1B Visa Growth Consultant Jobs
Growth Consultant roles qualify for H-1B visa sponsorship as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, analytics, or a related field. Employers file the Labor Condition Application with DOL before petitioning USCIS, and the annual cap means timing your offer matters.

Today, over 20,000 businesses—including Samsung, Gymshark, Mejuri, Dr. Squatch, and Alo Yoga—rely on AfterShip to turn every post-purchase moment into an opportunity to build trust, reduce costs, and drive repeat purchases.
Built for a global market from day one, AfterShip operates with an engineering-driven, internationally distributed team. The company employs more than 450 people across 8 offices, spanning North America, Europe, and Asia, and representing over 20 cities worldwide.
Your Mission:
AfterShip is expanding its Omnichannel products to help DTC merchants launch and scale on TikTok Shop using AfterShip Feed Listing, Affiliates, and agent products. We are looking for a hands-on TikTok Shop Growth Operator to work directly with a small cohort of merchants, helping them launch successfully, grow their TikTok Shop business, and turn proven strategies into repeatable playbooks that can later scale through product automation, AI agents, and agency/TSP partners. Reporting to the Head of Product, this is a merchant-facing, operational role focused on execution, experimentation, and learning; not traditional sales, marketing, or customer success.
This is a fully remote, 6-month contract role with the potential for extension based on business needs and performance. The role will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Partnerships, and Go-to-Market teams, serving as a critical bridge between merchants and product development. Insights gathered through hands-on merchant operations will help shape product strategy, identify automation opportunities, and strengthen AfterShip's long-term Omnichannel growth initiatives.
What You'll Do:
- Own day-to-day onboarding execution for pilot merchants through a 6–8 week TikTok Shop launch and scale sprint.
- Help merchants with store readiness, Seller Center setup, catalog readiness, listing QA, and basic listing optimization after the merchant has been successfully onboarded by a Solutions Architect.
- Teach merchants how to use AfterShip Feed Listing and Affiliates during the launch and scaling process.
- Support early affiliate activation workflows, including creator matching and campaign setup basics where relevant.
- Run weekly merchant check-ins, track blockers, escalate product and integration issues, and maintain launch trackers.
- Document repeatable onboarding and growth playbooks that can later be productized or scaled through agency/TSP partners.
- Work closely with Product, Solutions/TAM, Partnerships, and GTM teams to translate merchant needs into product improvements and operational learnings.
What Success Looks Like:
- Pilot merchants complete the TikTok Shop launch sprint with clear milestones, fewer avoidable blockers, and a strong first experience using AfterShip products.
- Merchants actively adopt Feed Listing, Affiliates, and relevant agent products as part of their TikTok Shop operating workflow.
- Product and GTM teams receive clear, actionable feedback on where the onboarding flow, listing workflow, affiliate workflow, or agent experience breaks down.
- AfterShip builds a documented playbook that can be reused for future merchants and eventually scaled through automation, AI agents, or agency/TSP partners.
Who We're Looking For:
- Hands-on experience in TikTok Shop seller operations, DTC operations, or TSP/agency operations.
- Ideally has worked at TikTok Shop as an AM, or at a leading TSP/TikTok Shop Partner as an AM or operations lead.
- Strong familiarity with TikTok Shop Seller Center and Shopify.
- Comfortable with catalog, listing, PDP optimization, and launch readiness workflows.
- Familiarity with affiliate and creator operations.
- Merchant-facing, operationally strong, detail-oriented, and able to create clean process documentation.
- Comfortable working with Product to turn operational insights into product features.
- North America-based preferred; bilingual capability is preferred but not required.

Verify your degree field supports specialty occupation
USCIS evaluates whether your degree directly relates to growth consulting work. A business, economics, or marketing degree aligns clearly, but a general studies degree may trigger an RFE. Pull the O*NET profile for this occupation to document the degree-to-role connection before your employer files.
Target employers with LCA filing history
Search Migrate Mate to filter Growth Consultant roles by employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications for this occupation code. Documented LCA history signals an employer already understands the H-1B process, reducing your risk of a withdrawn offer mid-petition.
Confirm your offer letter specifies a specialty occupation
Your offer letter needs to define the role in terms USCIS accepts: duties requiring specialized knowledge and a specific degree field. Vague titles like 'consultant' without scope detail invite RFEs. Ask your employer to align the job description with the DOL job zone classification before the LCA is filed.
Time your application for cap-subject versus cap-exempt employers
Cap-subject H-1B petitions can only start employment on October 1 after the April lottery. If your current OPT or CPT expires before then, target cap-exempt employers such as nonprofits or universities first, or negotiate a start date that falls within your authorized period.
Use the OFLC Wage Search to benchmark your prevailing wage tier
DOL assigns Growth Consultant roles a wage level based on experience and supervision. Use the OFLC Wage Search before negotiating your offer to confirm your salary meets at least the Level I or Level II threshold for your metro area, since LCA certification requires the employer to attest to prevailing wage compliance.
Prepare your credentials for an RFE before filing
Growth Consultant petitions draw scrutiny when the role involves cross-functional or strategic work without a clear single-discipline degree requirement. Gather course transcripts, credential evaluations for foreign degrees, and a letter from your employer detailing why a specialized degree is required for your specific duties.
H-1B Visa Growth Consultant: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Growth Consultant role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
Yes, if the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business, marketing, economics, or data analytics. The key is that the degree must be directly related to the duties, not just any bachelor's degree. Employers often document this using the O*NET occupation profile and an internal job description that ties duties to a defined field.
How do I find Growth Consultant employers who actually sponsor H-1B visas?
Migrate Mate filters Growth Consultant roles by employers with verified Labor Condition Application filing history, so you're not applying blind to companies that have never sponsored an H-1B. LCA records are public DOL data, and focusing your search on employers with a filing track record substantially reduces the risk of an offer falling through once the employer learns what sponsorship requires.
Can I switch employers mid-H-1B if I get a better Growth Consultant offer?
Yes. H-1B portability under AC21 lets you change employers once your petition has been pending for 180 days, as long as the new role is in the same or a similar occupational classification. Your new employer files an H-1B transfer petition and you can start working immediately upon receipt, without waiting for approval.
What happens to my H-1B status if my Growth Consultant contract ends?
You have a 60-day grace period after your employment ends to find a new sponsoring employer, change status, or depart the U.S. That 60-day window is not automatic work authorization, it's just extra time before your status lapses. Your new employer needs to file a transfer petition before the grace period expires to maintain lawful status.
Do consulting firms or agencies sponsor H-1B visas for Growth Consultant roles?
Some do, but third-party placement arrangements require additional documentation. USCIS scrutinizes staffing or consulting agency petitions more heavily, often requiring proof of a bona fide employer-employee relationship and evidence that the end client's worksite qualifies. Direct-hire roles at companies with in-house growth teams typically face less adjudication risk than agency placements for this job title.
