OUR VALUE PROPOSITION
This is a uniquely exciting time to join Karyopharm Therapeutics where we are pioneering the science of nuclear export inhibition to develop differentiated therapies for patients with cancer. We are building upon an established commercial foundation in multiple myeloma while advancing the potential of selinexor across additional hematologic and solid tumor cancers including myelofibrosis and TP53 wild-type endometrial cancer, areas where patients continue to face significant unmet needs. Our lead therapy, XPOVIO ® (selinexor), is a first-in-class inhibitor of exportin 1 (XPO1) and is approved in the U.S. for adults with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma, with approvals in more than 50 countries and territories outside the U.S. We are also exploring opportunities to evaluate XPO1 inhibition across myeloproliferative neoplasms and TP53 wild-type driven solid tumors using next-generation compounds, including eltanexor. As we prepare for our next phase of growth, we are continuing to invest in critical capabilities across the organization to support future opportunities and deepen our impact in oncology. We are looking for talented people who are motivated by meaningful work, energized by growth and momentum, and excited by the opportunity to help shape what comes next in a collaborative, fast-moving environment where individual contributions are visible and valued.

Map your role to a qualifying SOC code
Pull the O*NET profile for your target title before applying. Infrastructure roles span multiple SOC codes, and mismatches between your job duties and the code on the LCA can trigger an RFE or denial.
Verify prevailing wage before negotiating salary
Run your title and location through the OFLC Wage Search before accepting any offer. Your employer must pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for your SOC code and metro area, so knowing Level I through Level IV thresholds puts you in a stronger negotiating position.
Target employers with cap-exempt status
Universities, nonprofit research institutions, and government-affiliated entities are cap-exempt, meaning they can file your H-1B petition any time without waiting for the annual lottery. Infrastructure roles at these organizations are a direct path to avoiding the lottery entirely.
Search for verified H-1B sponsors on Migrate Mate
Filter infrastructure and operations jobs by employers with documented H-1B LCA filing history on Migrate Mate. That history tells you which companies have already navigated the process for your role type, not just which ones list sponsorship as a checkbox on a job posting.
Ask about E-Verify enrollment before your start date
If you're transitioning from OPT STEM extension, your employer must be E-Verify enrolled to maintain your work authorization. Confirm enrollment status during the offer stage, not after you've given notice at your current job.
Front-load your specialty occupation documentation
Infrastructure titles like 'IT Manager' or 'Systems Administrator' face higher RFE rates because USCIS scrutinizes whether they truly require a specific bachelor's degree. Prepare a detailed duty breakdown showing theoretical and practical application of a specialized discipline before your employer files I-129.
H-1B Visa Infrastructure And Operations: Frequently Asked Questions
Do infrastructure and operations roles qualify as H-1B specialty occupations?
Most do, but the qualifier is whether the role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field, not just any degree. Network engineers, cloud architects, and systems reliability engineers typically qualify under computer science or information systems. General IT support or helpdesk roles often don't meet the specialty occupation threshold, so the job description and employer's internal requirements matter significantly.
Which employers sponsor H-1B visas for infrastructure roles?
Large technology companies, financial institutions, healthcare systems, and managed service providers consistently file H-1B LCAs for infrastructure titles. You can see which specific employers have active filing history for your target role by searching infrastructure and operations positions on Migrate Mate, which surfaces employers with verified H-1B sponsorship records rather than unverified self-reported claims.
Can I transfer my H-1B to a new infrastructure employer mid-year?
Yes. Under H-1B portability, you can start working for a new employer as soon as they file a transfer petition, without waiting for approval, provided your current H-1B is valid and you're moving to a same or similar occupational classification. Infrastructure roles with comparable SOC codes and similar duty sets generally qualify as same-or-similar, but your new employer should document the connection in the petition.
How does the H-1B lottery affect infrastructure job seekers specifically?
The annual cap of 65,000 H-1B visas, plus 20,000 for U.S. master's degree holders, applies to most private-sector infrastructure roles. If you're not selected in the lottery, you remain eligible for the next registration period. Pursuing roles at cap-exempt employers, such as universities or nonprofit research centers with IT departments, bypasses the lottery entirely and lets your employer file at any point during the year.
What documentation strengthens an H-1B petition for an operations role?
USCIS looks for evidence that the role requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Useful documentation includes the employer's internal job posting specifying degree requirements, organizational charts showing where the role sits relative to other specialized positions, proof of your credentials, and a detailed description of how daily duties apply specialized theoretical knowledge rather than generalized IT skills.
