Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service Application Developer
Position Summary
OPEX Corporation is seeking a Microsoft Dynamics 365 - Field Service Application Developer to join our team at our World Headquarters in Moorestown, NJ. This hands-on role focuses on designing, building, testing, and maintaining solutions across Dynamics 365 Field Service, Microsoft Power Platform, integrations, and select in-house applications.
You will translate business needs into maintainable solutions, own work from discovery through deployment, and stay close to production by troubleshooting and improving what you build. The role emphasizes development and enhancement while retaining responsibilities for configuration, support, documentation, and user enablement.
How We Work
We share context, review ideas, pair on difficult problems, and step in when work crosses applications or specialties. We value teammates who communicate openly, document what they learn, and make the whole team stronger.
Talent does not always follow a traditional path. Skills gained through self-study, side projects, open-source work, experimentation, or experience outside a formal developer title are welcome. Tell us what you built, how you learned, and how you made something better. You do not need to check every box.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain solutions in Dynamics 365 Field Service, Dataverse, Power Apps, and Power Automate.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs, prototypes, and production-ready enhancements that are reliable and maintainable.
- Configure and extend Dynamics 365 tables/entities, forms, views, business rules, workflows, security roles, and solution components.
- Build custom features and scripts using JavaScript, HTML/CSS, C#, PHP, SQL, Python, PowerShell, or the best-fit technology.
- Develop and support integrations using REST APIs, Power Platform connectors, third-party tools, and data workflows.
- Partner with the implementation team on the migration to Dynamics 365 Field Service, including data mapping, validation, testing, and issue resolution.
- Debug production issues, perform root cause analysis, and turn recurring problems into durable fixes or product improvements.
- Contribute to source control, testing, solution review, and release practices that improve quality and reduce deployment risk.
- Collaborate with service operations, IT, developers, and end users to gather requirements, review solutions, and validate outcomes.
- Support application releases, updates, user access, data quality, performance monitoring, and production stability.
- Create clear technical documentation, release notes, support guides, and training materials, and share reusable patterns and lessons with the team.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience developing, configuring, or extending Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Dataverse solutions, or equivalent experience building comparable business applications.
- Experience with Power Platform, including Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Hands-on programming or scripting experience in at least one language such as JavaScript, C#, PHP, Python, or PowerShell. You do not need to be an expert in every technology listed.
- Working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, SQL/data querying, system integrations, and data flows.
- Ability to translate user needs into maintainable technical solutions and carry work from design through testing and deployment.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills, including root cause analysis.
- Clear communication and collaboration, with the ability to explain technical concepts, learn unfamiliar systems quickly, and carry work to a reliable result.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience gained through work, certifications, self-directed learning, or project-based experience.
Preferred Qualifications (Helpful, Not Required)
- Experience with Dynamics 365 Field Service or supporting mobile workforce/service operations.
- Microsoft Dynamics or Power Platform certification, such as MB-240 or a similar credential.
- Experience with Dynamics 365 web resources, plug-ins, custom connectors, PCF controls, or other extensibility tools.
- Exposure to Azure services, middleware, or complex integrations.
- Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, or structured release management.
- Examples of independent projects, automations, tools, or process improvements that show how you learn, build, and solve problems.
Physical/Work Environment
This position is based in an office setting. The role requires the ability to sit for extended periods.
Salary range: $75,000-$85,000, based on experience.

Align your degree to the SOC code
USCIS scrutinizes whether your specific degree field matches the Dynamics 365 role's SOC classification. A computer science or information systems degree maps cleanly; a general business degree may trigger an RFE even with years of Dynamics experience.
Verify prevailing wages before negotiating offers
Run the OFLC Wage Search for your target SOC code and metro area before any salary discussion. Your employer's LCA must certify the offered wage meets the prevailing rate, so knowing Level I through Level IV thresholds helps you evaluate offers accurately.
Target employers with dedicated ERP hiring pipelines
Use Migrate Mate to filter for companies with active H-1B LCA filings in enterprise software and ERP implementation roles. Firms that repeatedly sponsor Dynamics 365 consultants have established internal processes that reduce your risk of delays or withdrawn petitions.
Document module certifications in your petition file
Microsoft certifications in Finance, Supply Chain, or Customer Engagement modules strengthen the specialty occupation argument in your I-129 petition. Ask your employer to reference these credentials explicitly in the support letter, not just in the job description.
Clarify client-site work arrangements with your employer early
Dynamics 365 implementation roles often involve client deployments across multiple locations. Each worksite may require a separate LCA posting, so confirm with your employer's immigration counsel that the petition covers all anticipated locations before it's filed.
Use the 60-day grace period strategically between contracts
If a Dynamics project ends and your employment terminates, USCIS allows a 60-day grace period to find a new sponsoring employer. Line up your next implementation role or consulting engagement before the current project closes, not after.
H-1B Visa Microsoft Dynamics 365: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Microsoft Dynamics 365 role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the position requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field such as computer science, information systems, or accounting information systems. USCIS evaluates the job duties, not just the title. Roles focused on configuration, customization, or integration work generally qualify, but purely administrative Dynamics roles without a required technical degree may not.
Which SOC code do employers typically use when filing an LCA for a Dynamics 365 position?
Most employers classify Dynamics 365 roles under SOC 15-1252 (Software Developers) or SOC 15-1211 (Computer Systems Analysts), depending on whether the role emphasizes development and customization versus functional configuration and business process mapping. The SOC code directly determines which prevailing wage level applies, so confirm with your employer which classification they intend to use before the LCA is filed.
How can I find employers actively sponsoring H-1B visas for Dynamics 365 jobs?
Migrate Mate surfaces employers with verified H-1B LCA filing history filtered by occupation and role type, so you can identify companies that have sponsored Dynamics 365 or ERP implementation positions rather than relying on employer claims during interviews. Targeting companies with a documented sponsorship track record in enterprise software significantly reduces the chance of an offer being withdrawn due to internal policy changes.
Can I switch from one Dynamics 365 employer to another while on H-1B status?
Yes, under H-1B portability rules established by the American Competitiveness in the 21st Century Act (AC21), you can start working for a new employer as soon as the new I-129 petition is filed, as long as your current H-1B has been approved for at least 180 days and the new role is in the same or a substantially similar occupational classification. The new employer must file a transfer petition with USCIS before your last day at the current employer.
Does multi-site Dynamics 365 consulting work create H-1B compliance issues?
It can. H-1B regulations require a certified LCA for each worksite where you perform work for more than 60 continuous workdays. For Dynamics 365 consultants rotating across client locations, your employer must post LCA notices at each site and may need multiple LCA certifications. Before accepting a role with extensive client travel, confirm your employer's process for handling short-term placement and worksite additions with DOL.
