Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service Application Developer
Position Summary
OPEX Corporation is seeking a Microsoft Dynamics 365 - Field Service Application Developer to join our team at our World Headquarters in Moorestown, NJ. This hands-on role focuses on designing, building, testing, and maintaining solutions across Dynamics 365 Field Service, Microsoft Power Platform, integrations, and select in-house applications.
You will translate business needs into maintainable solutions, own work from discovery through deployment, and stay close to production by troubleshooting and improving what you build. The role emphasizes development and enhancement while retaining responsibilities for configuration, support, documentation, and user enablement.
How We Work
We share context, review ideas, pair on difficult problems, and step in when work crosses applications or specialties. We value teammates who communicate openly, document what they learn, and make the whole team stronger.
Talent does not always follow a traditional path. Skills gained through self-study, side projects, open-source work, experimentation, or experience outside a formal developer title are welcome. Tell us what you built, how you learned, and how you made something better. You do not need to check every box.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain solutions in Dynamics 365 Field Service, Dataverse, Power Apps, and Power Automate.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs, prototypes, and production-ready enhancements that are reliable and maintainable.
- Configure and extend Dynamics 365 tables/entities, forms, views, business rules, workflows, security roles, and solution components.
- Build custom features and scripts using JavaScript, HTML/CSS, C#, PHP, SQL, Python, PowerShell, or the best-fit technology.
- Develop and support integrations using REST APIs, Power Platform connectors, third-party tools, and data workflows.
- Partner with the implementation team on the migration to Dynamics 365 Field Service, including data mapping, validation, testing, and issue resolution.
- Debug production issues, perform root cause analysis, and turn recurring problems into durable fixes or product improvements.
- Contribute to source control, testing, solution review, and release practices that improve quality and reduce deployment risk.
- Collaborate with service operations, IT, developers, and end users to gather requirements, review solutions, and validate outcomes.
- Support application releases, updates, user access, data quality, performance monitoring, and production stability.
- Create clear technical documentation, release notes, support guides, and training materials, and share reusable patterns and lessons with the team.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience developing, configuring, or extending Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Dataverse solutions, or equivalent experience building comparable business applications.
- Experience with Power Platform, including Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Hands-on programming or scripting experience in at least one language such as JavaScript, C#, PHP, Python, or PowerShell. You do not need to be an expert in every technology listed.
- Working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, SQL/data querying, system integrations, and data flows.
- Ability to translate user needs into maintainable technical solutions and carry work from design through testing and deployment.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills, including root cause analysis.
- Clear communication and collaboration, with the ability to explain technical concepts, learn unfamiliar systems quickly, and carry work to a reliable result.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience gained through work, certifications, self-directed learning, or project-based experience.
Preferred Qualifications (Helpful, Not Required)
- Experience with Dynamics 365 Field Service or supporting mobile workforce/service operations.
- Microsoft Dynamics or Power Platform certification, such as MB-240 or a similar credential.
- Experience with Dynamics 365 web resources, plug-ins, custom connectors, PCF controls, or other extensibility tools.
- Exposure to Azure services, middleware, or complex integrations.
- Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, or structured release management.
- Examples of independent projects, automations, tools, or process improvements that show how you learn, build, and solve problems.
Physical/Work Environment
This position is based in an office setting. The role requires the ability to sit for extended periods.
Salary range: $75,000-$85,000, based on experience.

Verify your degree maps to Dynamics roles
USCIS scrutinizes whether your degree field directly relates to the position. A business information systems, computer science, or MIS degree strengthens your case. A general business degree alone may trigger an RFE if the job description doesn't specify a required field.
Target ERPs with deep Dynamics implementation pipelines
ERP consultancies, Microsoft Gold Partners, and large enterprise IT departments file H-1B petitions far more consistently than small IT shops. Filter your search on Migrate Mate by employers with verified H-1B LCA filing history in Dynamics and ERP-related occupation codes.
Check prevailing wages by specialization before negotiating
Dynamics 365 Finance, Supply Chain, and CRM implementations pull different SOC codes and wage levels. Run your specific role and metro area through the OFLC Wage Search to confirm which wage level your experience qualifies for before your employer files the LCA.
Confirm your offer letter names the exact Dynamics modules
Your I-129 petition is tied to the job duties described in the LCA. If your offer letter says 'ERP Consultant' but the LCA lists Dynamics-specific duties, USCIS may issue an RFE. Ask your employer to include the specific D365 modules you'll implement in the official offer.
Use your 60-day grace period strategically between projects
If your employer ends your engagement, you have a 60-day grace period to find a new sponsoring employer and file an H-1B transfer. Project-based Dynamics roles can end abruptly, so keep your Microsoft certifications current and your credentials ready to share with a new sponsor immediately.
Get your Microsoft certifications before the lottery
USCIS doesn't require certifications, but MB-300, MB-500, or the Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate credential strengthens your specialty occupation argument and makes you a stronger candidate to employers deciding which roles to sponsor through the annual cap lottery.
H-1B Visa Microsoft Dynamics Consultant: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Microsoft Dynamics Consultant role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
Yes. Dynamics Consultant positions typically qualify because they require theoretical and practical application of highly specialized knowledge, and most employers require at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related business or technology field. USCIS evaluates the specific job duties and degree requirement on a case-by-case basis, so a well-drafted job description tied to your degree field is essential.
Which employers sponsor H-1B visas for Microsoft Dynamics Consultants?
Microsoft Gold Partners, large ERP implementation firms, and enterprise companies running Dynamics 365 environments are the most consistent H-1B sponsors for this role. You can find employers with verified H-1B Labor Condition Application filing history in Dynamics and ERP-related occupations on Migrate Mate, filtered by role and location.
Can I transfer my H-1B to a new employer if my Dynamics consulting contract ends?
Yes. You can file an H-1B transfer with a new sponsoring employer while your current status is still valid, and you can begin working for the new employer as soon as the transfer petition is filed, not when it's approved. If your employment ends before you file, USCIS allows a 60-day grace period to find a new sponsor and initiate the transfer.
What SOC code applies to Microsoft Dynamics Consultant roles on the LCA?
Most Dynamics Consultant roles are filed under SOC 15-1252 (Software Developers) or 13-1161 (Market Research Analysts and Marketing Specialists) depending on the module focus, though 15-1299 (Computer Occupations, All Other) is also used. Your employer's immigration attorney determines the most defensible SOC code based on your actual job duties. Use the OFLC Wage Search with your specific code and metro area to verify the prevailing wage your employer must certify.
Does project-based or contract work affect my H-1B status as a Dynamics Consultant?
It can. If you're employed by a staffing firm or consultancy and placed at end-client sites, your H-1B petition must reflect the actual work location and duties. USCIS applies heightened scrutiny to third-party placement arrangements, so your employer needs to document control over your work and provide an itinerary or client letter if you'll work at multiple sites.
