Position Summary
We are seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our dental care team. The Dental Hygienist works closely with the dentist to support the oral health needs of patients while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. This role performs dental hygiene services in accordance with Florida dental hygiene standards and TFHC policies.
Essential Responsibilities
- Complete patient screenings, including oral health assessments, health history review, oral cancer screenings, dental charting, and taking blood pressure and pulse
- Take dental radiographs as needed
- Remove calculus and plaque from all surfaces of the teeth
- Apply preventive materials, including sealants and fluoride
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene, including brushing, flossing, and nutrition counseling
- Counsel patients on the impact of nutrition on oral health
- Assist with impressions for study casts as needed
- Complete accurate documentation and support office management activities
- Help identify dental supply, material, and equipment needs
- Assist with coordinating maintenance and equipment service requests
- Maintain positive and professional communication with patients and team members
- Travel to different TFHC locations when coverage is needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Current Florida Dental Hygiene License
- Current CPR certification
- Previous dental hygiene experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to communicate clearly in English and follow oral and written instructions
- Strong patient care, teamwork, and communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with patients and staff
