About the Role:
MoneyLion is a leader in financial technology powering the next generation of personalized products and content. We pride ourselves on serving the many, not the few, providing confidence through guidance, choice, and personalization.
We’re looking for a deeply experienced front-end engineer who brings strong judgment, product thinking, and a high bar for technical quality. This role is about making sound engineering decisions, partnering effectively across disciplines, and building customer experiences that are fast, clear, resilient, and measurable.
You will help shape and scale key consumer-facing journeys across MoneyLion’s product surfaces, working closely with product, design, analytics, and backend engineers to improve engagement, conversion, and long-term customer value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take Ownership: You’ll help maintain a high bar for quality through code reviews, testing, and production readiness.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with product, design, and backend engineers to shape solutions and deliver reliably.
- Architect for change: Design and build scalable front-end systems that adapt to evolving product needs.
- Improve Performance & Quality: Strengthen performance, accessibility, maintainability, and consistency across the codebase.
- Support experimentation: Build A/B tests, event tracking, and measurement capabilities that support rapid learning.
- Lead AI-assisted development: Use AI tools for prototyping, scaffolding, refactoring, and exploratory development, then validate the output with strong engineering judgment.
- Raise quality through testing: Build and maintain automated test coverage across unit, component, integration, and end-to-end layers.
About You:
- Strong expertise in TypeScript, React, Next.js, and modern front-end architecture.
- Comfortable working with APIs and building reliable customer-facing applications.
- Proven success building scalable, component-driven user interfaces.
- Strong grasp of performance, accessibility, responsive design, and maintainable front-end systems.
- Skilled at partnering with Product, Design, and backend engineers to deliver in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and modern development workflows.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, problem-solving mindset.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Experience: 5+ years in software engineering, with a track record of building and shipping production applications.
Must Have Skills:
- Deep expertise in React and TypeScript, including advanced typing strategies, component architecture, and reusable design patterns.
- Strong understanding of how the browser works, including rendering, event handling, networking, and performance characteristics.
- Experience building and scaling component-driven applications, including state management, data flow, and separation of concerns.
- Strong grasp of performance optimization techniques, including code splitting, lazy loading, memoization, and runtime efficiency.
- Experience designing and integrating with APIs, including handling async data, caching strategies, and error states across the UI.
- Experience implementing testing strategies across unit, component, integration, and end-to-end layers.
- Experience integrating and working with headless and enterprise CMS platforms (e.g., Contentful, Adobe Experience Manager, WordPress), including content modeling, delivery APIs, and editor-friendly workflows.
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring of user-facing applications, including performance tracking and debugging in production.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern frontend build and deployment workflows.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a bias toward clear, maintainable, and scalable frontend systems.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with React Native.
- Experience working on high-scale, consumer-facing applications.
- Familiarity with experimentation platforms, A/B testing, and event instrumentation.
- Hands-on experience with tools like Cursor (or similar AI-powered IDEs) and modern AI coding models.
- Practical understanding of where AI is strong vs. where it falls short, paired with sound discernment in its application.
- Ability to use AI agents to quickly project multiple approaches, compare tradeoffs, and converge on the best solution without shipping "AI-shaped" code.
Personal Attributes:
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-tech environment and manage complex problems.

Verify your degree field matches the role
USCIS requires your degree to align specifically with the web engineering role, not just technology broadly. A degree in information systems or computer science typically satisfies this, but a general business degree with a tech minor often doesn't survive an RFE.
Check employer LCA filings before applying
Use Migrate Mate to filter Senior Web Engineer roles by verified DOL Labor Condition Application history. This tells you which employers have filed for this specific occupation code, so you're not guessing about sponsorship willingness from job descriptions alone.
Target cap-exempt employers strategically
Universities, nonprofit research institutions, and government-affiliated entities are exempt from the H-1B cap and can file year-round. Senior Web Engineer roles exist at many of these organizations, and cap-exempt filings avoid the lottery entirely.
Confirm the prevailing wage tier before negotiating
Run your target job title and location through the OFLC Wage Search before any offer conversation. Employers must certify your wage meets at least the Level I prevailing wage in the LCA, so knowing the floor protects you from offers that can't clear DOL certification.
Request premium processing in your offer negotiation
USCIS offers 15-business-day adjudication under premium processing for an additional fee. Many employers absorb this cost, but you need to ask explicitly during offer negotiation rather than after the I-129 is filed, when it becomes harder to revisit.
Understand the 60-day grace period before your start date
If you're changing employers, your current H-1B status gives you a 60-day grace period after your last day to secure a new approved petition. Filing a new I-129 during this window, not after it expires, is what preserves your status.

Find Senior Web Engineer JobsSenior Web Engineer H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Senior Web Engineer role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
Yes, Senior Web Engineer positions qualify when the job requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical field such as computer science, software engineering, or a closely related discipline. The role must require that degree as a standard entry requirement, not just prefer it. Most senior-level engineering roles clear this bar because the complexity of the work supports the degree requirement. If the job description says 'preferred' rather than 'required,' that can create an RFE risk.
How do I find Senior Web Engineer employers who actively sponsor H-1B visas?
The most reliable method is checking DOL Labor Condition Application records, which show exactly which employers have filed for this occupation. Migrate Mate surfaces this data so you can search Senior Web Engineer roles filtered by verified H-1B filing history. This approach is more accurate than relying on job description language, which is often inconsistent or aspirational about sponsorship willingness.
Can I transfer my H-1B to a new Senior Web Engineer role mid-year?
Yes. H-1B portability under AC21 lets you start working for a new employer as soon as the new I-129 is filed, without waiting for approval, provided your current petition has been approved for at least 180 days. The new employer must file a cap-exempt H-1B transfer petition. You don't need to re-enter the lottery, and the 60-day grace period after leaving your previous employer gives you a short window to secure the new filing.
What SOC code does USCIS typically use for Senior Web Engineer petitions?
Senior Web Engineer roles are most commonly filed under SOC code 15-1252 (Software Developers) or 15-1254 (Web Developers and Digital Interface Designers), depending on the job's focus. The O*NET profile for each code outlines the typical duties and educational requirements USCIS uses to evaluate specialty occupation status. Your employer's immigration counsel will specify the code in the LCA, and it must align with your actual job duties to avoid an RFE.
Does a Senior Web Engineer role need PERM labor certification for H-1B?
No. H-1B visa sponsorship for Senior Web Engineer roles does not require PERM labor certification. PERM is a separate DOL process required for permanent residence (green card) sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 categories. For the H-1B itself, the employer files a Labor Condition Application, which is a faster attestation-based process, not the full recruitment-and-audit process that PERM requires.
