- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, high‑impact projects simultaneously, with a solid grasp of project planning, milestone tracking, prioritization, and risk management.
- Experience working across complex operational environments, with the ability to quickly learn new functions, processes, and data sources.
- Comfortable operating in a fast‑moving and ambiguous environment, applying critical thinking to break down complex problems.
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and influence outcomes without direct authority.

Verify your degree aligns with the role
USCIS requires your degree field to directly correspond to supply chain optimization duties. A degree in industrial engineering, operations research, or logistics management maps cleanly. A general business degree may trigger an RFE unless your coursework emphasizes quantitative methods.
Search DOL LCA filings by occupation
Use the OFLC Wage Search to filter Labor Condition Applications by SOC code 15-2031 (operations research analysts) or 13-1081 (logisticians). Employers who filed recently are actively hiring for H-1B-eligible roles in supply chain.
Target manufacturers with complex supplier networks
Companies running global supplier networks, distribution centers, or just-in-time manufacturing file H-1B petitions far more consistently than smaller logistics firms. Prioritize employers in automotive, aerospace, and consumer electronics, where supply chain optimization is a core technical function.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified H-1B sponsors
Search supply chain optimization roles on Migrate Mate to see which employers have active LCA filing history for your occupation code. This filters out postings from companies that rarely or never sponsor H-1B visas, saving you from unproductive applications.
Negotiate filing timeline into your offer negotiation
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed in April for an October 1 start. If you're graduating or changing status, confirm your employer's timeline before signing. A start date that misses the cap window may require a gap year or alternative status bridging.
Document quantitative tools as specialty occupation evidence
When your employer prepares the H-1B petition, your experience with tools like SAP IBP, Python-based demand forecasting, or linear programming models strengthens the specialty occupation argument. Ask your employer to reference these in the support letter, not just your job title.

Find Supply Chain Optimization JobsSupply Chain Optimization H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a supply chain optimization role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
Yes, when the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical field like industrial engineering, operations research, or supply chain management. USCIS evaluates the job duties, not just the title. Roles involving demand forecasting, network modeling, or inventory optimization typically meet the specialty occupation standard because they require applying theoretical and analytical methods learned through a qualifying degree program.
Which industries sponsor H-1B visas most consistently for supply chain roles?
Manufacturing, retail, pharmaceuticals, and logistics technology companies file the highest volume of H-1B petitions for supply chain and operations research roles. Consulting firms that deploy supply chain analysts to client engagements are also consistent sponsors. You can verify which employers have active LCA filings for your occupation code by searching Migrate Mate, which surfaces employers with documented H-1B filing history filtered by role.
What SOC code covers supply chain optimization for H-1B prevailing wage purposes?
Most supply chain optimization roles fall under SOC code 15-2031 (operations research analysts) or 13-1081 (logisticians), depending on whether the work is primarily analytical or operational. Your employer selects the SOC code when filing the Labor Condition Application with DOL. The prevailing wage level assigned to that code and your work location directly determines the minimum salary USCIS and DOL will accept on your petition.
Can I change employers mid-H-1B if I find a better supply chain role?
Yes. Under H-1B portability rules, you can start working for a new employer as soon as they file an H-1B transfer petition on your behalf, without waiting for approval, as long as your previous H-1B was approved and you've maintained valid status. The new employer must file a fresh LCA and I-129 petition. You don't need to restart the lottery if you're already in H-1B status.
How do I find out if a company has sponsored H-1B visas for supply chain roles before?
DOL publishes H-1B Labor Condition Application disclosure data that shows every employer's LCA filings by occupation and year. You can use the OFLC Wage Search to look up specific employers or filter by occupation code. Migrate Mate aggregates this data and lets you search supply chain roles directly, so you can identify which employers have a track record of H-1B sponsorship before applying.
