H-1B Visa Travel Coordinator Jobs
Travel Coordinator roles qualify for H-1B sponsorship when the position requires a bachelor's degree in hospitality, business, or a related field. Match your degree to the role description
USCIS requires a direct relationship between your degree field and the Travel Coordinator position. A hospitality, tourism management, or business administration degree strengthens your petition. A general studies degree without coursework tied to the role can trigger an RFE.
Check LCA filings before applying
Use Migrate Mate to filter Travel Coordinator roles by employers with active LCA filing history. This tells you which companies have already completed the DOL certification step, not just ones that say they sponsor.
Target corporate travel departments at large firms
Companies with dedicated corporate travel departments, such as financial institutions, consulting firms, and universities, file H-1B petitions far more reliably than travel agencies. Their in-house legal teams handle repeat filings, which shortens your timeline from offer to petition.
Verify the prevailing wage before negotiating
Run the Travel Coordinator SOC code through the OFLC Wage Search before your offer conversation. Your salary must meet or exceed the DOL wage level your employer certifies on the LCA, and underpaying is one of the most common reasons petitions get audited.
Confirm O*NET specialty occupation standing upfront
Pull the Travel Coordinator profile on O*NET and confirm the listed education requirements specify a bachelor's degree. If your job description diverges from the O*NET profile, ask the employer to document why the role requires a specialized degree, before they file.
Time your application around the cap deadline
H-1B cap registrations open in March for an October 1 start date. If you receive a Travel Coordinator offer after the lottery, negotiate a deferred start or explore cap-exempt employers like universities or nonprofits that can file outside the annual cycle.

Find Travel Coordinator JobsTravel Coordinator H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Travel Coordinator role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
It depends on how the employer defines the position. USCIS requires the role to normally require a bachelor's degree in a specific field. A Travel Coordinator job that specifies hospitality management, business, or a related degree in the posting has a stronger case than one that treats any bachelor's degree as sufficient. Ask your employer to document the degree requirement explicitly before they file the I-129.
Which employers are most likely to sponsor H-1B visas for Travel Coordinators?
Large corporations with dedicated corporate travel departments, universities, and government contractors sponsor H-1B Travel Coordinators most consistently. These organizations have established immigration programs and repeat filing experience. Browse Travel Coordinator roles with verified LCA filing history on Migrate Mate to identify which specific employers have already gone through the DOL certification process.
What happens to my H-1B status if my Travel Coordinator role is eliminated or restructured?
Your H-1B status is tied to the specific employer and job duties certified on your LCA and I-129. If your role is eliminated, you have a 60-day grace period to find a new H-1B sponsor, change to another valid status, or depart the country. If the role is restructured significantly, your employer may need to file an amended petition with USCIS before the changes take effect.
Can a Travel Coordinator position be filled through cap-exempt H-1B sponsorship?
Yes, if the employer qualifies as cap-exempt. Institutions of higher education, affiliated nonprofits, and government research organizations can file H-1B petitions year-round without going through the annual lottery. A Travel Coordinator at a university or a nonprofit research center can start on any date rather than waiting for an October 1 cap-subject start date.
How does the DOL prevailing wage requirement affect Travel Coordinator H-1B petitions?
Before filing your H-1B petition, your employer must certify a Labor Condition Application with the DOL stating your salary meets the prevailing wage for a Travel Coordinator in your work location. The wage level is tied to the specific SOC code and geographic area. You can verify the applicable wage through the OFLC Wage Search using the Travel Coordinator occupation code before accepting an offer.
