Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship as a Wellness Manager
Verify your degree supports specialty occupation
USCIS requires your degree field to directly relate to wellness management. A bachelor's in health promotion, kinesiology, or public health aligns cleanly. A business degree alone can trigger an RFE, so gather transcripts showing health-specific coursework before applying.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search Migrate Mate to filter Wellness Manager roles by employers who have filed LCAs for this occupation. Companies with repeated filings are already familiar with the H-1B process and less likely to reject candidates over sponsorship concerns.
Check prevailing wage levels before negotiating salary
Your offer must meet or exceed the DOL prevailing wage for your worksite location and job duties. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up Level I through Level IV wages for your metro area before you enter salary negotiations.
Confirm the role's O*NET classification with your employer
Wellness Manager maps to a specific O*NET code that your employer must cite in the LCA. If HR lists the job under a general management code instead, the specialty occupation argument weakens. Ask your HR contact to confirm the correct occupational classification before the LCA is filed.
Submit your H-1B registration before the March deadline
USCIS opens H-1B cap registration in early March each year, with the window typically closing within two weeks. Missing registration means waiting a full year. Coordinate with your employer well before February so all registration details are ready.
Request an employment verification letter on company letterhead
Your I-129 petition requires a support letter detailing your job duties, required education, and offered wage. Ask HR to specify that a health-related bachelor's degree is a minimum requirement, not a preference, to satisfy the specialty occupation standard USCIS applies.

Find Wellness Manager JobsWellness Manager H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Wellness Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
Yes, if the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as health promotion, public health, exercise science, or nutrition. The key is that the degree requirement must be stated as a minimum, not a preference. Roles at larger organizations that have formalized health and benefits programs tend to meet this standard more consistently than generalist wellness coordinator positions.
Which types of employers sponsor H-1B visas for Wellness Manager roles?
Corporate wellness programs at large tech firms, hospital systems, insurance companies, and university health departments are the most consistent sponsors. These organizations run structured H-1B filing programs and already understand LCA requirements. You can browse verified H-1B sponsoring employers hiring for this role on Migrate Mate, filtered by LCA filing history for wellness and health management occupations.
How does the DOL prevailing wage requirement affect a Wellness Manager job offer?
Your employer must certify in the LCA that your offered wage meets or exceeds the DOL prevailing wage for your specific worksite location and job level. Prevailing wages vary significantly by metro area and experience level. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up Level I through Level IV wage rates for your city before your offer letter is finalized, so you can confirm compliance early in the process.
Can I transfer my H-1B to a new Wellness Manager role without restarting the cap process?
Yes. If you're already in valid H-1B status, you can transfer to a new employer through an H-1B portability filing. Your new employer files an I-129 petition, and you can start work as soon as USCIS receives it, without waiting for approval. The cap does not apply again. Confirm your current I-94 is valid and that there's no gap in employment before the transfer petition is filed.
What documentation should I prepare to support the specialty occupation argument for a Wellness Manager H-1B?
Gather your official transcripts showing a degree in a health-related field, any professional certifications such as CHES or WELCOA credentials, and a detailed job description from your employer that lists the degree as a requirement. If your degree is from outside the U.S., a credential evaluation from a NACES-member organization helps USCIS confirm equivalency to a U.S. bachelor's degree in the same field.
