H-1B1 Chile Visa Product Design Lead Jobs
Product Design Lead jobs with H-1B1 Chile visa sponsorship are open to Chilean nationals under the U.S.-Chile Free Trade Agreement. Align your portfolio to specialty occupation standards
H-1B1 Chile requires your role to qualify as a specialty occupation. Pull the O*NET profile for Product Design Lead and document how your portfolio demonstrates bachelor's-level design knowledge, not just creative output or team management.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Use the OFLC Wage Search to identify companies that have recently certified Labor Condition Applications for design leadership roles. Employers already in the LCA system understand the H-1B1 visa Chile filing process and won't need educating on consulate-route sponsorship.
Search H-1B1 Chile sponsor roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate surfaces employers with verified H-1B1 Chile filing history filtered by occupation, so you're applying to companies that have already sponsored Chilean nationals rather than hoping a recruiter knows the visa exists.
Get your Chilean credentials evaluated before outreach
A Chilean design degree title or professional certification that doesn't map cleanly to a U.S. bachelor's in a specific field can slow your LCA. Order a credential evaluation before your first recruiter conversation so you can present equivalency documentation immediately.
Confirm your offer letter specifies the H-1B1 Chile route
Many U.S. employers default to H-1B visa sponsorship language in offer letters. Ask HR to confirm your offer references the H-1B1 Chile classification specifically, since the LCA and DS-160 process differs from the standard H-1B petition pathway.
Request the LCA before scheduling your consulate appointment
DOL must certify your employer's Labor Condition Application before you can apply at the consulate. Don't book your visa interview until you have the certified LCA in hand, or you'll arrive without a required document.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Product Design Lead role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B1 Chile?
Yes, if the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as industrial design, interaction design, or a closely related discipline. The employer documents this requirement in the Labor Condition Application. Roles framed as general creative leadership without a specific degree requirement can face scrutiny, so the job description needs to reflect the educational standard USCIS and DOL expect.
How does H-1B1 Chile differ from H-1B for Product Design Lead sponsorship?
H-1B1 Chile has no lottery, no USCIS petition, and uses consulate processing under the U.S.-Chile Free Trade Agreement. The 1,400 annual cap has historically gone unused, so timing isn't a barrier the way it is with H-1B. The tradeoff is that H-1B1 Chile doesn't allow dual intent, meaning you can't simultaneously pursue permanent residence on this status without careful planning.
How do I find employers who sponsor H-1B1 Chile visas for design leadership roles?
Migrate Mate filters job listings by verified H-1B1 Chile filing history, so you can focus on companies that have already sponsored Chilean nationals in design occupations rather than cold-pitching sponsorship to employers unfamiliar with the consulate-route process. Most general job searches don't surface H-1B1 Chile sponsorship as a distinct filter, which makes targeted searches significantly more efficient.
Can I switch employers after starting work on an H-1B1 Chile visa as a Product Design Lead?
Yes, but the new employer must file a fresh Labor Condition Application and you'll need to return to the consulate for a new visa stamp reflecting the updated employer. Unlike H-1B portability under AC21, there's no continuation of authorized status while a new petition is pending. Plan the transition timeline carefully so there's no gap in your employment authorization.
What happens if my Product Design Lead H-1B1 Chile visa expires while I'm still employed?
H-1B1 Chile visas are issued in two-year increments and can be renewed indefinitely as long as you maintain qualifying employment and your employer recertifies the LCA. You renew at the consulate, not through USCIS, so you'll need a valid job offer, a new certified LCA, and a current DS-160. Start the renewal process well before your stamp expires to avoid travel disruptions.
