Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as a Business Development Analyst
Match your degree to the SOC code
Business Development Analyst roles must qualify as a specialty occupation. Pull the O*NET profile for SOC 13-1199 or 11-2022 and confirm your Chilean degree aligns with the listed education requirements before applying.
Target employers with active LCA filings
Companies that have filed Labor Condition Applications for business analyst or development roles are already set up for H-1B1 visa sponsorship. Prioritize those employers because the DOL process is already familiar to their HR and legal teams.
Search verified H-1B1 sponsors on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Business Development Analyst jobs by employers with documented H-1B1 Chile filing history. That data comes from DOL disclosure records, so you're targeting real sponsors, not companies that simply checked a box on a job listing.
Request the LCA before giving notice
Your employer must get the LCA certified by DOL before you apply at the consulate. Confirm that your offer letter includes a timeline for LCA filing so you're not caught without valid status between roles.
Benchmark your offer against OFLC Wage Search
The LCA locks in a wage at or above the DOL prevailing wage for your role and location. Run the OFLC Wage Search for your specific metro area before negotiating so you know the floor and can evaluate whether the offer meets it.
Prepare a credential equivalency letter early
Chilean university degrees are four to five years and generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's, but consular officers may ask for documentation. A credential evaluation from a NACES-member organization prevents delays at the interview stage.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Business Development Analyst role qualify as a specialty occupation under H-1B1 Chile rules?
Yes, provided the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as business administration, economics, or marketing. Generic sales or account management roles that don't require a specific degree field are harder to support. Employers should document the degree requirement in the job description and LCA filing to avoid consular pushback.
How does the H-1B1 Chile visa compare to H-1B for Business Development Analyst jobs?
The H-1B1 Chile visa skips the lottery entirely, which means you can target a specific start date rather than waiting for an April selection. The annual cap of 1,400 visas has never been exhausted, so eligible Chilean professionals have reliable access. The trade-off is that H-1B1 doesn't allow dual intent, so maintaining clear nonimmigrant intent at the consular interview matters.
How do I find Business Development Analyst employers that actually sponsor H-1B1 Chile visas?
Migrate Mate surfaces employers with verified H-1B1 filing history drawn from DOL Labor Condition Application records. Filtering by role and visa type shows you companies that have already navigated the process, which significantly shortens your search compared to cold-applying and hoping HR knows the visa exists.
Can I switch employers after starting a Business Development Analyst role on H-1B1 Chile?
Yes, but the new employer must file a fresh LCA and you must apply at the consulate again or complete a change of status if you're already in the U.S. There's no H-1B-style portability that lets you start before the new petition is approved. Build in enough runway to complete the process before your current status expires.
What happens if my Business Development Analyst H-1B1 Chile application is denied at the consulate?
A denial doesn't bar future applications, but you'll need to address the specific reason before reapplying. Common issues include insufficient documentation of the specialty occupation requirement, a wage below the DOL prevailing wage, or questions about nonimmigrant intent. USCIS isn't involved in consular denials, so the consular officer's stated reason is your primary guide for reapplication.
