Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as a Marketing Associate
Verify your degree matches the role
H-1B1 Chile requires your position to qualify as a specialty occupation. For Marketing Associate roles, a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or business is the standard credential. A degree in an unrelated field weakens your case even if you have years of experience.
Pull the O*NET occupation profile early
O*NET classifies Marketing Associate duties under specific SOC codes that shape how your employer writes the job description. Confirming the right code before your offer letter is drafted helps ensure the LCA and consular application align without costly revisions later.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search Migrate Mate to find employers who have already filed Labor Condition Applications for marketing roles. A company with H-1B1 visa Chile filing history understands the process, which shortens the internal approval cycle before your offer becomes an active sponsorship.
Ask HR about E-Verify enrollment before signing
H-1B1 Chile employers must be or become E-Verify participants. Confirm this before you accept an offer. If HR isn't aware of the requirement, that's a signal the company hasn't sponsored H-1B1 Chile visa holders before and will need extra lead time.
Use OFLC Wage Search to benchmark your offer
Your employer must pay the DOL prevailing wage for your role and location. Run the OFLC Wage Search for the marketing SOC code in your target city before negotiations. If the offer is at or near the wage floor, there's little room for the employer to adjust the LCA.
Prepare your nonimmigrant intent documentation carefully
Unlike H-1B visa, H-1B1 Chile is a nonimmigrant visa and consular officers do assess ties to Chile. Bring documentation showing professional or personal connections to Chile alongside your job offer, LCA, and academic credentials to support a clean consular interview.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Marketing Associate role qualify for H-1B1 Chile sponsorship?
Yes, if the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field such as marketing, communications, or business administration. The role must meet the specialty occupation standard. Generalist marketing coordinator positions that accept any bachelor's degree regardless of field are more likely to face scrutiny during consular review.
How is the H-1B1 Chile visa different from H-1B for this role?
H-1B1 Chile has no lottery and no USCIS petition requirement, so your employer files a Labor Condition Application with DOL and you apply directly at the consulate in Chile. The annual cap is 1,400 visas and historically goes unfilled. The tradeoff is that H-1B1 Chile doesn't permit dual intent, meaning you can't use it as a stepping stone to a green card the way H-1B allows.
Where can I find employers who sponsor H-1B1 Chile visas for marketing roles?
Migrate Mate filters job listings by employers with verified H-1B1 Chile LCA filing history, so you're targeting companies that have already navigated the sponsorship process for roles like Marketing Associate. This saves time compared to approaching employers who have no prior H-1B1 Chile experience and may decline on process uncertainty alone.
What documents do I need for the consular interview as a Marketing Associate applicant?
You'll need the certified Labor Condition Application from DOL, your job offer letter specifying the specialty occupation duties, your academic credentials showing a degree in a relevant field, DS-160 confirmation, and the MRV fee receipt. Consular officers may also ask for evidence of your ties to Chile to satisfy the nonimmigrant intent requirement specific to H-1B1.
Can my H-1B1 Chile visa be renewed if I stay in the same Marketing Associate role?
H-1B1 Chile is issued in two-year increments with no statutory limit on renewals, so you can extend as long as you maintain a qualifying specialty occupation job with a sponsoring employer. Each renewal requires a new LCA from DOL. There's no cap on how many times you can renew, making it viable for long-term employment in marketing roles.
