Translate your Chilean credentials for U.S. hiring
U.S. employers evaluating H-1B1 Chile candidates need to confirm your degree meets specialty occupation standards. Get your Chilean university transcripts officially translated and evaluated by a NACES-accredited credential service before applying to roles.
Target companies with active LCA filing history
Focus your search on employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications for sales roles before. They understand the H-1B1 visa Chile process, have DOL compliance systems in place, and won't stall at the sponsorship conversation.
Search verified H-1B1 Chile sponsorship roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters job listings by employers with documented H-1B1 Chile visa sponsorship history, so you're not wasting applications on companies that have never filed. Search by Sales Account Executive roles specifically to find relevant active opportunities.
Verify your role qualifies as a specialty occupation
Not every sales title qualifies for H-1B1 Chile status. Check the O*NET profile for Sales Account Executive to confirm the occupation requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field, then align your job description to that language.
Ask employers about LCA filing timing before accepting
The DOL must certify your Labor Condition Application before your consulate appointment. Confirm your employer knows this step precedes the visa interview, and get a firm timeline for when they'll submit the LCA filing through FLAG.
Prepare for consular nonimmigrant intent questions early
Unlike H-1B visa, the H-1B1 Chile visa doesn't allow dual intent, so consular officers will probe your ties to Chile. Prepare specific, documented evidence of home-country ties during the offer negotiation stage, not the night before your interview.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Sales Account Executive role qualify for H-1B1 Chile visa sponsorship?
It depends on how the role is defined. The H-1B1 Chile visa requires the position to be a specialty occupation, meaning it must normally require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Sales Account Executive roles that emphasize consultative selling in technical or enterprise contexts typically qualify. Generic sales roles without a degree requirement may not. Review the O*NET profile and match your job description to the specialty occupation criteria before applying.
How does the H-1B1 Chile visa differ from H-1B for a Sales Account Executive?
The H-1B1 Chile visa has no lottery and no USCIS petition requirement, which makes the path significantly more direct for Chilean nationals. You apply at the U.S. consulate after your employer secures a certified Labor Condition Application from DOL. The annual cap is 1,400, and it rarely fills. The key tradeoff is that H-1B1 Chile doesn't allow dual intent, so you can't simultaneously pursue a green card through the same employer the way some H-1B holders do.
How do I find Sales Account Executive employers who will sponsor an H-1B1 Chile visa?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find employers with verified H-1B1 Chile sponsorship history for sales roles. Employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications for Account Executive positions before are your strongest targets since they already understand the DOL certification process and won't treat your visa status as a deal-breaker late in the hiring process.
What documents do I need before my H-1B1 Chile consulate interview for a sales job?
You'll need a certified Labor Condition Application from DOL, your employer's offer letter specifying the Sales Account Executive role and prevailing wage compliance, official academic credentials (translated if in Spanish), and evidence of your Chilean nationality. Because H-1B1 Chile doesn't allow dual intent, you should also prepare documentation of ties to Chile such as property ownership, family, or financial accounts to satisfy the consular officer.
Can my H-1B1 Chile visa be renewed if I stay in the same Sales Account Executive role?
Yes. H-1B1 Chile visas are issued in two-year increments and can be renewed indefinitely as long as you maintain the qualifying employment relationship and your employer files a new Labor Condition Application with DOL. There's no cap on renewals, but each renewal goes through the consulate rather than USCIS, so you'll need to plan for consulate appointment availability before your current visa expires.
