ABOUT THE JOB
At Google, we "Focus on the user and all else will follow." Our Interaction Designers transform complex tasks into intuitive, easy-to-use experiences for billions of people. From creating user flows and wireframes to building mockups and prototypes, you will envision and bring product experiences to life with an inspired, refined, and magical feel. You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products.
As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.
The Marketing Technology (MarTech) and Operations (MTO) team operates at the intersection of marketing and technology. As a Senior UX Designer, you will have a unique opportunity to design the experience for a critical program, transforming a fragmented ecosystem into an indispensable digital platform for a network of agencies and partners. In this role, you will be leading data visualizations for recommendations and reporting, potentially defining and building new tooling capabilities to support key features, and setting the foundation to build agentic and AI capabilities.
Know the user. Know the magic. Connect the two. At its core, marketing at Google starts with technology and ends with the user, bringing both together in unconventional ways. Our job is to demonstrate how Google's products solve the world's problems—from the everyday to the epic, from the mundane to the monumental. And we approach marketing in a way that only Google can—changing the game, redefining the medium, making the user the priority, and ultimately, letting the technology speak for itself.

Align your portfolio to specialty occupation standards
USCIS requires your role to demand a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Frame each portfolio case study around specific design methodologies, interaction design, usability research, design systems, not general creative output that a non-degreed candidate could produce.
Verify your degree equivalency before applying
Chilean licentiate degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's, but your employer's attorney may request a credential evaluation. Get a certified evaluation from a NACES-member organization before the offer stage, not after.
Target employers already filing LCAs for design roles
Use the OFLC Wage Search to filter certified Labor Condition Applications by job title and state. Employers with recent LCA history for product designer or UX designer roles have already cleared DOL's prevailing-wage process and understand H-1B1 Chile sponsorship requirements.
Search H-1B1 Chile jobs using Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters job listings by verified LCA filing history, so you see only employers who have actively sponsored work visas. Search specifically for product designer roles to avoid wasting applications on companies unfamiliar with H-1B1 visa Chile sponsorship.
Negotiate the LCA filing into your offer timeline
The employer must file and receive a certified LCA from DOL before your consular appointment. DOL certifies most LCAs within seven business days. Confirm your prospective employer knows this step precedes your visa interview so your start date isn't delayed.
Prepare for consular nonimmigrant intent questions
Unlike H-1B visa, the H-1B1 Chile visa does not permit dual intent. Consular officers will assess your ties to Chile. Bring evidence of ongoing connections, property, family, professional registrations, alongside your job offer letter and certified LCA.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a product designer role qualify as a specialty occupation for the H-1B1 Chile visa?
Yes, provided the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as interaction design, industrial design, or human-computer interaction. Roles where any bachelor's degree is acceptable regardless of field generally do not qualify. The O*NET profile for product designers lists Job Zone 4, which supports the specialty occupation argument. Your employer confirms the degree requirement in the LCA.
How does the H-1B1 Chile visa compare to H-1B for product designers?
H-1B1 Chile has no lottery and the 1,400-visa annual cap has never been exhausted, so a qualifying Chilean product designer with a job offer can apply without competing in a randomized selection. The trade-off is that H-1B1 Chile does not allow dual intent, meaning you cannot simultaneously pursue a green card. H-1B holders can file an immigrant petition while maintaining status; H-1B1 Chile holders cannot.
How do I find product designer jobs with H-1B1 Chile visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate shows product designer roles filtered by verified DOL Labor Condition Application filing history, so you can identify employers who have already navigated the H-1B1 Chile sponsorship process. Applying to companies with LCA history for design roles significantly shortens the timeline from offer to consular appointment, since those employers understand the requirements.
Can I switch product designer employers while on an H-1B1 Chile visa?
Yes, but you must restart the process with each new employer. There is no H-1B1 Chile portability equivalent to the AC21 rule that H-1B holders use. Your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL, and you will typically need to attend a new consular appointment in Chile. Plan your transition timeline accordingly, especially if your current H-1B1 Chile status is near its two-year validity period.
What documents does a product designer need for the H-1B1 Chile consular interview?
You will need a certified LCA from DOL, an offer letter that specifies your job title and confirms a bachelor's degree is required, your academic credentials and any credential evaluation, a completed DS-160, and evidence of Chilean citizenship. Because H-1B1 Chile requires demonstrating nonimmigrant intent, bring documentation of ties to Chile such as family records, property ownership, or professional registrations.
