H-1B1 Chile Visa Solutions Architect Jobs
H-1B1 Chile visa sponsorship lets Chilean Solutions Architects work in the U.S. without entering the H-1B lottery. With a 1,400-visa annual cap that rarely fills and consulate processing instead of USCIS petitions, qualified architects with a U.S. job offer can move faster than most work visa routes allow.

DESCRIPTION
Imagine being part of a team where your expertise can help reshape the future of the Energy industry and accelerate the global energy transition. Here at Amazon Web Services (AWS), you'll work with a talented and inclusive team while using cutting-edge cloud technologies to solve the most complex challenges facing Energy companies worldwide.
We are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect with a deep understanding of the Energy industry to support strategic customers in their cloud transformation journey. You will serve as the technical owner for customer relationships — advising on security, cost, performance, reliability, and operational efficiency across their entire AWS footprint. Working directly with customer executives and line-of-business owners, you'll architect highly scalable, resilient cloud solutions that drive measurable business outcomes and accelerate digital transformation across the energy sector.
Key job responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end technical relationship with one or more of the largest Energy companies in the world, making recommendations on best-practice architectures that address real business problems
- Build trusted relationships with customer executives, engineering teams, and line-of-business owners — translating complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and cost-optimized cloud architectures
- Lead technical discussions across all levels of the customer organization, from developers to C-suite, communicating the art of the possible while grounding solutions in practical delivery
- Advocate internally on behalf of the customer — sharing their needs with AWS product teams to influence platform roadmap development
- Create and deliver technical content including white papers, reference architectures, code samples, and workshops that establish thought leadership and accelerate industry transformation
- Help shape the Solutions Architecture organization by hiring, coaching, and mentoring others
A day in the life
You'll spend your day engaging directly with Energy industry leaders, diving deep into their most challenging technical and business problems — whether that's modernizing enterprise IT environments, enabling GenAI initiatives, optimizing large-scale data platforms, or navigating complex security and compliance requirements. One day you might be whiteboarding a migration strategy with a customer's infrastructure team; the next, presenting digital transformation strategy to C-suite executives. Each day brings unique opportunities to apply your industry expertise alongside the breadth of AWS services. This role requires weekly customer site visits in Houston, TX.

Map your degree to specialty occupation requirements
USCIS requires Solutions Architect roles to qualify as a specialty occupation under the H-1B1 Chile framework. Pull the O*NET profile for your occupation code and confirm your degree field aligns directly with the role's technical requirements before applying.
Verify your employer files an LCA first
Your employer must obtain a certified Labor Condition Application from DOL before you can apply at the consulate. Confirm they've completed this step and that the certified LCA reflects your actual job title, worksite, and prevailing wage level.
Check prevailing wage against your offer using OFLC Wage Search
DOL sets wage floors by occupation code and metro area. Run your job title and worksite ZIP through the OFLC Wage Search to confirm your offered salary meets the Level I or Level II threshold before negotiations close.
Target employers already comfortable with treaty-based visas
Search Migrate Mate to identify employers with active H-1B1 visa Chile or TN visa filing history. Companies already using treaty-based nonimmigrant categories understand the consulate-only process and are less likely to stall on sponsorship over unfamiliarity.
Prepare for consular intent questions specific to your role
H-1B1 Chile carries no dual-intent protection, so consular officers assess nonimmigrant intent directly. Bring documentation showing your Chilean ties, a defined project scope, and evidence the Solutions Architect role has a fixed or renewable term.
Time your application around LCA certification windows
DOL targets LCA certification within seven business days, but worksite-specific notices and public access file requirements take additional time. Build at least three weeks between your accepted offer and your planned consulate appointment to avoid gaps.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Solutions Architect role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B1 Chile?
Yes, Solutions Architect roles consistently qualify because they require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a closely related technical field. The key requirement is that the degree must be directly related to the role's core duties. If your employer's job description lists broad responsibilities that could be filled by any business graduate, USCIS and consular officers may push back, so make sure the posting specifies a technical degree as a minimum requirement.
How does H-1B1 Chile differ from H-1B for Solutions Architects?
The H-1B1 Chile visa skips the annual lottery entirely, carries a separate 1,400-visa cap that has never been exhausted, and is processed at the U.S. consulate in Chile rather than through a USCIS petition. That means faster timelines and no random selection risk. The tradeoff is that H-1B1 Chile does not carry dual-intent protection, so you cannot use it as a direct stepping stone to a green card the way H-1B holders sometimes can.
How do I find Solutions Architect employers who sponsor H-1B1 Chile visas?
Use Migrate Mate to filter for employers with verified H-1B1 Chile and treaty-based visa filing history in the technology and cloud infrastructure sectors. Companies that have sponsored similar roles before understand the LCA and consulate process, which significantly shortens the timeline from offer to approval compared to employers encountering the visa category for the first time.
Can my employer sponsor H-1B1 Chile if they've only filed H-1B petitions before?
Yes. The H-1B1 Chile process uses the same LCA filing through DOL, so employers with existing H-1B experience can sponsor you without major procedural changes. The main difference is that instead of filing an I-129 with USCIS, you apply directly at the consulate after the LCA is certified. Most employers with an immigration attorney or in-house HR team can handle the adjustment without starting from scratch.
What happens to my H-1B1 Chile status if my Solutions Architect role changes significantly after I arrive?
Material changes to your job duties, worksite, or employer require your sponsor to file an amended LCA with DOL and potentially restart the consulate process. If your role shifts from hands-on architecture work to primarily management with no technical delivery component, it could affect whether the position still qualifies as a specialty occupation. Notify your employer's immigration contact before accepting a promotion or role change, not after.
