H-1B1 Chile Visa Vice President Jobs
H-1B1 Chile visa sponsorship for Vice President roles is available to Chilean nationals under the U.S.-Chile Free Trade Agreement, with no lottery and a 1,400-visa annual cap that rarely fills. Consulate processing means faster timelines than H-1B visa, but the specialty occupation requirement applies, so your executive role must map to a specific degree field.

Align your degree to your executive function
H-1B1 Chile requires your Vice President role to qualify as a specialty occupation tied to a specific bachelor's degree field. Pull your O*NET occupation profile and confirm your job duties map directly to your academic credentials before applying.
Request an LCA before accepting the offer
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with DOL before the consular application. Ask your hiring contact to confirm the LCA is submitted to DOL and certified, typically within seven business days, before you commit to a start date.
Target employers with existing H-1B1 Chile filing history
Use Migrate Mate to filter for companies that have sponsored Chilean professionals before. Employers already familiar with H-1B1 Chile LCA requirements move faster and are less likely to stall at the filing stage.
Prepare a degree equivalency letter early
Chilean licentiate degrees and professional titles don't always map cleanly to U.S. bachelor's equivalency standards. Get a credential evaluation completed before your employer begins LCA filing so there are no delays at the consulate.
Clarify the annual renewal process during offer negotiations
Unlike H-1B, the H-1B1 Chile is issued in one-year increments and renewed at the consulate each cycle. Confirm your offer letter reflects this structure and that your employer understands the annual LCA recertification requirement.
Use OFLC Wage Search to benchmark your offer
Your employer's LCA must certify your salary meets or exceeds the prevailing wage for your SOC code and work location. Run the OFLC Wage Search yourself so you enter salary negotiations knowing the DOL floor for your Vice President level.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Vice President role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B1 Chile?
It depends on how the role is defined. A Vice President title alone doesn't guarantee specialty occupation status. The position must normally require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field, such as finance, engineering, or computer science. Generic executive roles where any degree suffices will not qualify. Your employer's job description and your actual duties need to demonstrate that specialized knowledge is required.
How does H-1B1 Chile differ from H-1B for Vice President candidates?
H-1B1 Chile skips the annual lottery entirely and is processed at the U.S. consulate in Chile rather than through USCIS. The 1,400-visa annual cap rarely fills, so eligible Chilean professionals can apply year-round without the uncertainty of H-1B selection. The tradeoff is that H-1B1 Chile doesn't carry dual intent, so maintaining clear nonimmigrant intent matters at every consular interview.
How do I find U.S. companies actively sponsoring H-1B1 Chile visas for executive roles?
Migrate Mate surfaces employers with verified H-1B1 Chile and LCA filing history filtered by role type, so you can identify companies that have actually sponsored Chilean professionals rather than guessing based on company size or industry. This matters at the Vice President level because executive sponsorship decisions often involve legal and HR approval chains that slow down unfamiliar employers.
Can my employer file the LCA and consular application simultaneously?
No. The Labor Condition Application must be certified by DOL before any consular application can proceed. DOL certifies most LCAs within seven business days, but your employer must post the LCA notice at the worksite for ten consecutive business days before submitting. Build this into your timeline so your consular appointment isn't scheduled prematurely.
What happens to my H-1B1 Chile status if I'm promoted or change roles within the same company?
A material change in job duties, location, or salary may require a new LCA and a new consular application at your next renewal. Internal promotions to a different Vice President function with distinct responsibilities are treated as a change in employment terms. Confirm with your employer's immigration contact whether your updated role still maps to the original LCA before the change takes effect.
