H-1B1 Singapore Visa Project Manager Jobs
Project Manager jobs with H-1B1 Singapore visa sponsorship give Singaporean nationals a direct path to U.S. employment without lottery risk. The 5,400 annual cap rarely fills, consulate processing keeps timelines predictable, and employers file no USCIS petition, making sponsorship faster to initiate than the H-1B visa route.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as a Project Manager
Translate your credentials into U.S. equivalents
Singapore's project management certifications, including PMP and CAPM, transfer directly, but your degree may need a credential evaluation. Get a course-by-course evaluation to confirm your polytechnic or local university qualification meets the bachelor's-level specialty occupation requirement.
Target employers with dedicated project management offices
Companies with formal PMOs and established immigration programs are far more likely to sponsor H-1B1 visas than startups hiring their first PM. Search Migrate Mate to identify employers whose DOL Labor Condition Application filings confirm active H-1B1 visa sponsorship history for project management roles.
Check prevailing wage requirements before salary negotiations
Your employer must certify your salary meets the DOL prevailing wage for your specific SOC code and work location before filing the LCA. Use the OFLC Wage Search to find the Level II or Level III wage for project managers in your target city before you receive an offer.
Confirm your role meets specialty occupation criteria
Project management roles with general coordination duties can be challenged if they don't require a specific degree field. Review the O*NET profile for your SOC code and align your job description to language that demonstrates a direct relationship between your degree field and the position.
Understand the LCA filing window relative to your start date
Your employer can submit the LCA to DOL for certification as early as six months before your intended start date. Build your job search timeline backward from your target start date so your employer has sufficient runway to get the LCA certified before your consulate appointment.
Prepare your DS-160 for consulate-specific scrutiny
Unlike H-1B, the H-1B1 is approved directly at the U.S. consulate in Singapore, not by USCIS. Consular officers review your DS-160 responses and your employer's LCA together, so ensure your job title and duties on the DS-160 match the certified LCA exactly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Project Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the H-1B1 Singapore visa?
Yes, but the job description must demonstrate that the position specifically requires a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as engineering, information systems, or business administration. Generic project coordination roles without a defined degree requirement can face challenges. The O*NET profile for your SOC code and a well-drafted job description from your employer both strengthen the specialty occupation argument.
How does the H-1B1 Singapore visa differ from the H-1B for Project Manager roles?
The H-1B1 skips the lottery entirely, which means your employer can initiate sponsorship any time of year without waiting for an April registration window. The application goes directly to the U.S. consulate in Singapore rather than USCIS, which removes the USCIS petition fee and shortens the filing process. The H-1B1 is granted in two-year increments rather than three, and it does not permit dual intent, so green card planning works differently than under H-1B.
How do I find Project Manager jobs where the employer is willing to sponsor an H-1B1 Singapore visa?
Use Migrate Mate to search for Project Manager roles filtered by employers with confirmed H-1B1 and H-1B Labor Condition Application filing history. This lets you focus on companies that have already navigated the sponsorship process rather than educating employers from scratch. Companies with active PMOs in technology, construction, healthcare, and financial services are among the most consistent sponsors for this role type.
Can my employer start the H-1B1 sponsorship process before I have an offer letter signed?
No. The DOL Labor Condition Application requires a specific job title, worksite location, start date, and offered wage, all of which must be confirmed before the LCA can be submitted. Your employer needs a finalized offer to file accurately. That said, you can use the pre-offer stage to confirm your employer's willingness to sponsor and gather the information needed to move quickly once an offer is extended.
What happens if the H-1B1 annual cap fills before my employer files?
The H-1B1 Singapore allocation of 5,400 visas per fiscal year has historically gone unused, so cap exhaustion is not a practical concern under normal conditions. Unlike the H-1B, there's no lottery and no cap-subject registration period, which means your employer can file at any point during the year. Monitoring the USCIS website for cap usage data is a reasonable precaution, but cap exhaustion has not been a barrier for Singaporean H-1B1 applicants in recent years.
