This leader will own the product vision and roadmap for agentic capabilities across the organization. They will help shape our internal agentic capabilities (tooling, orchestration layers, data interfaces, evaluation frameworks) while also identifying, evaluating, and onboarding external tools and partners that extend our platform.
Working across machine learning, research, preclinical, clinical, engineering, and operations teams, this role will translate scientific workflows into scalable agentic systems that enhance decision-making, automate complexity, and unlock scientific velocity.
This is a high-impact, cross-functional role at the intersection of AI, platform strategy, and therapeutic innovation.
You will work onsite in our Somerville, MA.
Here's how you will contribute:
Advance the agentic science vision:
- Build on and evolve the product strategy for Generate’s agentic platform across the full drug discovery lifecycle
- Identify high-value scientific workflows that are ripe for agentification
- Translate company goals into measurable product outcomes tied to scientific productivity, cycle time, and data leverage.
Expand and scale Generate’s internal agentic science infrastructure:
-
Partner with Engineering and Scientific teams to build core agentic infrastructure:
-
Tool orchestration frameworks
-
Workflow automation layers
-
Agent evaluation and benchmarking systems
-
Interfaces into biological data platforms
-
Establish principles for agent reliability, validation, governance, and safety in scientific contexts in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Develop the external ecosystem strategy:
- Map the external landscape of agentic tools, AI copilots, workflow automation platforms, and scientific AI startups.
- Identify build vs. buy vs. partner opportunities.
- Lead evaluation, pilot programs, onboarding, and integration of external tools and partners.
Drive cross-functional adoption:
- Work deeply with scientists across early discovery and clinical development to embed agentic solutions into real workflows.
- Run continuous discovery efforts to identify friction points and opportunity spaces.
- Influence change management, innovation and drive adoption of new capabilities.
Lead end-to-end product execution:
- Own roadmap prioritization and define success metrics and feedback loops for agentic performance and impact.
- Communicate progress, trade-offs, and outcomes clearly to executive stakeholders.
- Continuously refine product development processes to match the speed of AI innovation.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
- 7+ years of product management experience, ideally including platform or AI-enabled products.
- Experience working in fast paced, constantly evolving environments within biotech, pharma, and/or tech.
- Strong understanding of and hands-on experience with LLMs, AI agents and evaluation methods.
- Hands on experience with continuous discovery, user research, and prototype development for validating both problems and solutions.
- Strong external orientation - aware of the fast-evolving AI and scientific tooling landscape.
- Track record of influencing cross-functional teams without formal authority.
- Excellent communication skills - able to bridge scientists, engineers, and executives.
- Ability to foster an inclusive, collaborative environment and build relationships and trust with a diverse set of stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in computational sciences, applied mathematics, life sciences, engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred but not required.
Who Will Love This Job:
This role is perfect for someone excited to build AI-native scientific infrastructure that reshapes how drug discovery is done. You think in platforms and ecosystems, thrive in ambiguity, and enjoy translating complex scientific workflows into scalable, agentic systems. If you’re motivated by defining what agentic science looks like inside a modern biotech - and building it from the ground up - you’ll love this role.

Verify your degree field matches the role
H-1B1 Singapore requires your degree to align directly with Product Management, not just any business field. A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business Administration typically qualifies. A degree in an unrelated discipline can trigger a consulate refusal even with years of PM experience.
Search verified H-1B1 sponsors on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter employers by H-1B1 visa LCA filing history for Product Management roles. This shows which companies have already navigated the process for Singaporean nationals, cutting your targeting time and avoiding employers unfamiliar with the visa category.
Ask employers about LCA filing timelines upfront
Your employer files the Labor Condition Application with DOL before your consulate appointment. Ask during the offer stage whether their legal team has filed H-1B1 visa LCAs before. First-time filers often underestimate the DOL processing window, which can delay your start date.
Use OFLC Wage Search before negotiating compensation
DOL requires your offered salary to meet the prevailing wage for your specific SOC code and location. Run the OFLC Wage Search for the Product Management occupation code in your target city before the offer conversation so you know the wage floor the LCA must certify.
Prepare your specialty occupation evidence file early
Consulate officers evaluate whether the Director, Product Management role genuinely requires a specialized degree. Bring your employer's job description, your transcripts, and any professional certifications. Gaps between your degree field and job duties are the most common cause of additional scrutiny.
Plan your visa stamp renewal before the two-year mark
H-1B1 Singapore status is granted in two-year increments with no limit on renewals. Schedule your consulate renewal appointment at least three months before expiry. Directors who let their status lapse while negotiating a new role face a gap in work authorization with no grace period for continued employment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Director, Product Management role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B1 Singapore?
Yes, if the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Business Administration. The consulate evaluates the specific job description, not the title alone. Roles where any degree is acceptable regardless of field typically do not meet the specialty occupation standard, so your employer's job description language matters significantly.
How does the H-1B1 Singapore visa compare to H-1B for Product Management directors?
The H-1B1 Singapore visa has no lottery, no USCIS petition filing, and a 5,400-visa annual cap that has never filled. H-1B visa requires surviving a randomized lottery, a USCIS approval process that can take months, and a filing window limited to one period per year. For Singaporean nationals with a qualifying job offer, H-1B1 Singapore is a faster and more predictable path into a Director, Product Management role.
Which U.S. employers actively sponsor H-1B1 Singapore visas for Product Management roles?
Technology companies, enterprise software firms, and financial services organizations file the most H-1B1 visa LCAs for Product Management occupations. Migrate Mate filters employers by verified H-1B1 visa LCA filing history for this specific role category, so you can identify companies that have already completed the process for Singaporean nationals rather than approaching employers who may be unfamiliar with the visa type.
Can I switch employers after entering the U.S. on an H-1B1 Singapore visa?
Yes, but your new employer must file a new LCA with DOL and you must obtain a new H-1B1 visa stamp at a consulate before starting work for the new company. Unlike H-1B portability, there is no mechanism allowing you to begin work upon filing. Plan the transition timeline carefully, especially at the Director level where notice periods are typically longer.
Does my Singapore employer experience count toward the specialty occupation requirement?
Your work history supports your credentials but does not substitute for the degree requirement. The H-1B1 Singapore visa requires a qualifying degree, not a combination of experience and education as permitted under some other visa categories. Your Director-level experience in Product Management is relevant context for the consulate interview but does not replace the academic qualification component of the specialty occupation determination.
