The Role
At Mach9, the Head of Marketing will build the company’s first complete marketing system and define a new category in the infrastructure industry. We have a proven product, customers who rely on it, and a growing team; what we need now is a repeatable way to turn that momentum into market leadership. This role is ideal for a marketing leader who knows how to step into a company at an inflection point and turn a deeply technical product into a clear market narrative—and turn that narrative into measurable pipeline. You’ll evolve Mach9’s story from a product for surveyors into a broader platform for infrastructure work, establish marketing as a core driver of revenue growth, and make Mach9 impossible to ignore.
Where You Will Make An Impact
- Define Mach9’s positioning, messaging, and category narrative across industries, customers, and top talent
- Build a repeatable demand-generation system, identifying the channels and programs that drive qualified pipeline, demo requests, product sign-ups, usage, and expansion opportunities
- Establish clear attribution and reporting, then own a quarterly marketing-sourced pipeline target alongside sales
- Lead product marketing across launches, customer proof, and sales enablement
- Build Mach9’s industry presence through events, partnerships, press, founder visibility, and customer advocacy
- Lead and mentor a small in-house team, using AI, agencies, contractors, and creative partners to extend its reach
- Partner closely with product and engineering to translate technical breakthroughs and features into compelling proof for our customers
What You Bring
- 5+ years of marketing leadership experience (Director-level) at a fast-scaling tech company (Series A–C or equivalent growth stage)
- Hands-on experience leading marketing for technical products (developer tools, generative AI), with content or campaigns tailored to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Exceptional strength in product, content, and revenue marketing
- Experience defining and instrumenting marketing measurement from the ground up, including pipeline attribution, funnel conversion, and channel ROI
- Exceptional writing and editorial judgment across product messaging, campaigns, executive communications, and long-form content
- Strong leadership + management skills and the ability to develop a small team while remaining personally involved in the work
- Technical curiosity and a genuine interest in becoming a credible subject-matter expert alongside engineers, product leaders, and specialized customers
- Expert at using AI to increase the quality and output of a lean marketing team.
Bonus Experience (not Required)
- Prior work in geospatial, construction technology, robotics, industrial software, CAD, GIS, or infrastructure
- Experience selling through channel partners, resellers, associations, or industry events
- Experience building an engaged community program from the ground up

Mid Level Head Of Marketing Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level head of marketing job?
Lead with outcomes, not activities. Hiring managers at this level want to see that you owned a marketing function or channel, made decisions, and drove measurable results. Tailor your resume to show scope of responsibility, not just task lists. Highlight cross-functional collaboration, any budget you managed, and campaigns where your judgment shaped the direction, not just the execution.
Which companies hire mid level head of marketings?
Companies hiring mid level head of marketings right now include Clients Blackbox, ADP, and Jobot, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Are there remote mid level head of marketing jobs?
Yes, remote and hybrid options are common at this level. About 60% of mid level head of marketing openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how broadly companies have accepted distributed marketing leadership. Fully on-site roles do still exist, particularly at companies that prioritize close collaboration with sales or product teams.
How do I move up to a mid level head of marketing role?
The path from entry level to mid level in marketing is built on accumulated ownership. Start by moving beyond assigned tasks into initiating work, proposing strategy, and taking accountability for outcomes. Deepen expertise in one or two channels, build a portfolio of campaigns you led rather than supported, and seek roles where you manage a budget or coordinate across teams with increasing independence.
