Healthcare Project Manager Jobs in Houston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a healthcare project manager job in Houston?
Focus your search on Houston's Texas Medical Center, the largest medical complex in the world, along with the health system networks and health-tech companies clustered in Greenway Plaza and Midtown. Candidates who combine PMP or CAPM certification with direct experience in EMR implementations, hospital operations, or clinical program rollouts stand out most. Demonstrating familiarity with large academic medical environments or multi-site health systems gives a clear edge in Houston's market.
Which companies hire healthcare project managers in Houston?
Companies currently hiring healthcare project managers in Houston include HDR, WSP, and Stantec, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Houston's employer mix ranges from large academic medical centers and regional hospital systems to health insurance carriers, specialty clinics, and digital health companies supporting the Texas Medical Center ecosystem.
Are there remote healthcare project manager jobs in Houston?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role: positions tied to clinical operations, construction, or facility projects are almost always on-site, while roles focused on software implementations, data initiatives, or administrative programs can run remotely. About 46% of healthcare project manager openings tied to Houston are remote or hybrid as of August 2026. Health-tech and health insurance employers in Houston tend to offer the most remote flexibility.
How can I get a healthcare project manager job in Houston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Houston is moving into a coordinator or project specialist role within one of the Texas Medical Center's member institutions, many of which run formal rotational or associate programs for early-career candidates. Houston's large hospital systems, including those operating multiple campuses, regularly hire clinical coordinators and operations analysts who can grow into full project management roles. Earning a CAPM certification and volunteering on internal process-improvement teams accelerates that transition significantly.
