INTRODUCTION
We are seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead product strategy and capability evolution for our ServiceNow platform. This role owns the end-to-end platform product vision, roadmap, and AI acceleration—driving measurable business impact by enabling value streams through scalable, reusable capabilities.
This is a high-ownership, high-impact role requiring a strong blend of product thinking, ServiceNow platform depth, and entrepreneurial execution. You will operate as a force multiplier—accelerating innovation, enabling reuse, and driving rapid experimentation to unlock value across the enterprise.
Core Competencies (What we are looking for)
Product Sense & Strategic Thinking
- Thinks in capabilities, not features
- Balances short-term wins vs. long-term platform scalability
- Ecosystem + trade-off mindset: Consistently balances value stream needs, market needs, engineering constraints, and tech debt, and makes clear calls on what should be standardized as a platform capability vs. left to tenant-level flexibility.
- Evidence-driven bets (not opinions): Uses research, user feedback, and outcome metrics to frame hypotheses, define success measures, and decide whether to stop, iterate, or scale platform capabilities based on adoption/impact signals.
Technical Depth (ServiceNow)
- Brings a strong technical foundation on the ServiceNow platform, not just functional familiarity
- Understands architecture patterns, integration models, data flows, and performance considerations
- Able to challenge engineering decisions constructively and drive the right platform design choices
- Clearly differentiates between configuration, customization, and platform extensibility trade-offs
Entrepreneurial Mindset
- Curious, proactive, and constantly exploring new possibilities
- Operates with a “build-test-learn-scale” mindset
Execution & Impact Orientation
- Strong bias for action — gets things done
- Delivers measurable impact, not just outputs
Platform Thinking
- Understands ecosystem dynamics, reuse, and developer experience
- Builds for scale, extensibility, and adoption
Experimentation Mindset
- Comfortable with ambiguity and failure
- Drives rapid prototyping and data-driven decision making
Key Responsibilities
1. Platform Product Strategy & Vision
- Define and drive the ServiceNow platform product vision, roadmap, and strategy aligned to enterprise priorities and value streams
- Translate business needs into scalable, reusable platform capabilities (common services)
- Establish a clear capability model and product taxonomy for ServiceNow platform services
2. Capability Mapping & Acceleration
- Partner with value streams to understand business needs and map them to ServiceNow-native capabilities
- Identify opportunities to reuse, standardize, and scale platform services across tenants
- Enable faster delivery velocity by promoting platform-first development and reducing duplication
3. Experimentation & Innovation
- Drive a culture of rapid experimentation, prototyping, and iterative learning
- Establish MVP-first approach: prove value quickly, scale what works, and fail fast when needed
- Leverage ServiceNow capabilities (GenAI, workflows, app engine) to create quick prototypes and PoCs
4. Product Lifecycle
- Own the complete product lifecycle:
- Opportunity identification
- Business case development
- Drive agile execution in partnership with engineering, operations, and platform teams
- Track product performance and optimize based on adoption, efficiency, and impact
5. Governance & Platform Excellence
- Establish and enforce platform governance, standards, and reusable design patterns
- Balance innovation with control (compliance, security, scalability, and upgradeability)
- Partner with engineering to drive clean core, modular architecture, and API-first design
6. Stakeholder Leadership & Influence
- Serve as the single-threaded product leader for ServiceNow platform capabilities
- Drive alignment across business stakeholders, engineering, architecture, and operations teams
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership on strategy, trade-offs, and impact
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required, preferably in Information Systems.
- 10–15+ years in Product Management, Platform Product Management, with a strong understanding of ServiceNow
- Deep expertise in ServiceNow platform (ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, workflows, App Engine, integrations)
- Strong understanding of enterprise integration and platform ecosystems
- Proven ability to map business needs to platform capabilities and drive adoption at scale
- Demonstrated experience in driving product strategy, roadmap, and execution end-to-end
Success Metrics
- Adoption of ServiceNow platform capabilities across value streams
- Reduction in duplicate/overlapping capabilities
- Time-to-market improvements (delivery acceleration)
- Measurable business outcomes (efficiency, cost, experience)
- Innovation velocity (number of prototypes scaled solutions)

Platform Product Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a platform product manager in Texas?
Platform product managers in Texas are not required to hold a state-issued license or credential, so entry comes through education and experience. Most Texas employers expect a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business, or information systems, often paired with a product management certification such as the Pragmatic Certified Product Manager or AIPMM credentials. Building a portfolio of platform or API projects, contributing to open-source tools, or completing a formal associate product manager program at a Texas-based tech company is the most direct path into the role.
Which companies hire platform product managers in Texas?
Employers hiring platform product managers in Texas right now include Alvarez & Marsal, American Heart Association, and 7-Eleven, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of enterprise technology headquarters, fintech firms, and semiconductor companies creates steady platform PM demand across both large corporations and well-funded startups.
Which Texas cities have the most platform product manager jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Houston have the most platform product manager openings in Texas. Austin leads because of its dense cluster of enterprise software companies, cloud startups, and tech offices, while Dallas benefits from large financial technology and corporate IT headquarters, and Houston adds demand through energy technology and healthcare platform companies.
Are there remote platform product manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. Platform product management is primarily a desk-based, collaborative role that translates well to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 25% of platform product manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the role's reliance on digital tools, async documentation, and distributed engineering teams. Strategic and discovery work tends to be the most remote-friendly part of the role.
How can I get hired as a platform product manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an associate product manager or rotational product program at a large Texas-based technology employer. Companies like Dell Technologies, NI, and early-stage Austin startups run structured APM tracks that onboard candidates from adjacent roles such as business analyst, technical program manager, or software engineer. Earning a product management certification, completing a product case study portfolio, and targeting platform-adjacent roles like solutions engineer or technical account manager at Texas enterprise firms builds the credibility hiring managers look for before promoting into a platform PM seat.
Where can I find and apply to platform product manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to platform product manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across Austin, Dallas, Houston, and beyond. Find roles that fit your experience and specialization and apply directly to each one.
