At Pine Haven Christian Home, our LPN or RN PM Nurse Supervisor plays a key role in guiding the team, supporting quality care, and ensuring our residents feel safe, comfortable, and cared for throughout the night. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and direct the day-to-day functions of floor staff on the unit in accordance with current laws, rules, and regulations governing our facilities. Ensure that all nursing personnel comply with Pine Haven’s written policies and procedures.
- Ensure that sufficient staffing is maintained to provide quality care that meets the daily needs of residents. Develop work assignments and monitor staff absenteeism, reporting issues to unit Manager.
- Make shift rounds to observe the physical and psychosocial status of residents and staff compliance with care requirements.
- Provide direct nursing care as necessary, and administer prescribed medications and treatments per MD orders. Maintain competence in all required skills within the facility.
- Attend team meetings as scheduled.
- Ensure that residents are treated with respect and dignity, and perform nursing duties with the comfort and wellbeing of each resident in mind.
- Participate in weekend on-call rotation with Assisted Living Managers and other administrative clinical staff members.
- Work beyond normal work hours and in other positions temporarily when required. May be subject to call-back under emergency circumstances.
- Immediately report any suspected abuse or neglect per facility policy.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
- Report any observed changes in a resident’s needs and/or condition immediately and as appropriate.
REQUIREMENTS
- Nursing degree from an accredited college or university, or graduate of an approved LPN or RN program.
- An unencumbered, active license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse or a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin.
- Minimum three years’ experience as a staff nurse in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility. Supervisory experience preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership/supervisory skill and willingness to work harmoniously with others. Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care.
