Hospice Registered Nurse Jobs in Nevada: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a hospice registered nurse in Nevada?
You must hold an active registered nurse license issued by the Nevada State Board of Nursing, obtained by completing an accredited ADN or BSN program and passing the NCLEX-RN. After licensure, most Nevada employers require at least one year of clinical experience before placing nurses in hospice roles. Earning the Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse credential, administered by the Hospice and Palliative Credentialing Center, strengthens your candidacy significantly with Nevada employers.
How much do hospice registered nurses make in Nevada?
Hospice registered nurses in Nevada earn a median of about $103,670 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $79,500 for the lowest 10% to over $133,270 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire hospice registered nurses in Nevada?
Employers hiring hospice registered nurses in Nevada right now include Eden Health, Lifecare Home Health Family, and Gentiva, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Nevada's concentration of independent hospice organizations alongside major health system affiliates means openings are spread across both nonprofit and for-profit employers throughout the Las Vegas metro and northern Nevada.
Which Nevada cities have the most hospice registered nurse jobs?
Las Vegas, Reno, and Carson City have the most hospice registered nurse openings in Nevada. Las Vegas and Henderson dominate because of the region's large and fast-growing senior population, which sustains multiple established hospice agencies and hospital-affiliated palliative programs, while Reno's growth as a regional medical hub has brought additional hospice employers into northern Nevada.
Are there remote hospice registered nurse jobs in Nevada?
Yes, but they're rare. Hospice nursing is fundamentally hands-on, with most roles requiring direct patient visits in homes, skilled nursing facilities, or inpatient units. About 0% of hospice registered nurse openings tied to Nevada are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to involve telehealth triage, care coordination, or case management functions rather than direct bedside care.
How can I get hired as a hospice registered nurse in Nevada with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is completing a med-surg, oncology, or long-term care role first, since Nevada hospice employers routinely recruit from those adjacent settings. Nathan Adelson Hospice and larger Las Vegas health systems occasionally offer structured orientations for nurses transitioning into palliative care. Obtaining your NCLEX-RN and Nevada Board of Nursing license is required before any application, and volunteering with a Nevada hospice organization strengthens your candidacy while you build clinical hours.
Where can I find and apply to hospice registered nurse jobs in Nevada?
