The position offers a structured 7-on/7-off schedule, free from call responsibilities, and manages a patient volume capped at 13 admissions per shift, enabling a dedicated focus on the delivery of high-quality care.
**Position Overview:** - **Shift:** 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. admitting shift
- **Schedule:** 7-on/7-off with no call obligations
- **Support:** Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) available to assist with admissions
- **Focus:** Inpatient admissions and discharges coordinated with APPs
- **Patient Volume:** Maximum of 13 admissions per shift
- **Experience:** 2–3 years of inpatient medicine preferred, no procedures required
**Educational and Experience Requirements:**
- **Board Certification:** Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- **Experience:** 2-3 years of inpatient medicine preferred
- **Licensure:** Valid Indiana Medical License required
- **Certifications:** Maintenance of BLS/ACLS certification is required
**Candidate Specifications:**
- **State License:** Active IN State License or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) -
**Board Status:** Board Certified or Board Eligible (certification must be obtained within five years of completing residency)
- **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years relevant experience
- **Certifications:** - ACLS if requesting conscious sedation privileges
- BLS for all specialties
**Specialty-Specific Skills:**
- **Mandatory Skills:** - Inpatient service (admissions and consults)
- Code response - Invasive ventilation management (endotracheal/tracheostomy/nasotracheal)
- Non-invasive ventilation management (BiPAP/CPAP)
- Central line and arterial line placement
- PA catheter and dialysis catheter placement
- Chest tube insertion and bronchoscopy - Temporary transvenous pacemaker placement
- Lumbar puncture, thoracentesis, paracentesis - Suturing minor lacerations and circumcision
