Job Description
Launch Your HR Career at WD
Ready to make an impact with a company that’s building the future of data? At WD, our people are the heart of our innovation—and our Human Resources team plays a key role in helping every employee thrive. As a Summer 2027 HR Intern, you’ll join a cohort of passionate students, partner with experienced HR professionals, and take on work that truly matters. This is your chance to grow, challenge yourself, and experience what a meaningful career in HR looks like inside a global tech company.
What You’ll Experience
You’ll own a real project within one of WD’s specialized HR teams—such as Talent Acquisition, People Intelligence & Analytics, Compensation & Benefits, Organizational Development, and more. We’ll match you to a team based on your strengths, interests, and business needs.
Throughout the summer, you’ll participate in a structured learning curriculum designed to build core early‑career and HR‑related skills. You’ll get hands-on experience with modern HR tools and analytics, collaborate with teams across the HR function, learn directly from HR leaders, and wrap up the program by presenting your capstone project to WD leadership. You’ll leave with real-world experience, new connections, and clarity about where your HR career could go.
Who You Are
You’re curious, collaborative, and excited to dive into the people side of business. You enjoy solving problems, asking great questions, and working with data to understand what’s really going on. You communicate clearly, build strong relationships, and jump into new challenges with enthusiasm. You take initiative, manage your time well, and love learning in environments where you can grow quickly. Experience with HR systems is a bonus—not a requirement.
This position is part of our Early Career program at WD. Our Early Career program is designed to support individuals beginning their professional career by providing the foundational training through a structured onboarding, mentorship, and development curriculum.

Human Resources Manager Jobs in San Jose: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a human resources manager job in San Jose?
Focus on San Jose's dominant sectors: enterprise technology, semiconductor manufacturing, and medical device companies clustered in North San Jose and the Almaden Valley corridor. Employers here prioritize candidates with experience supporting engineering or technical workforces, handling California-specific compliance, and scaling teams through rapid growth. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification and hands-on experience with Workday or similar platforms give candidates a clear edge in this market.
Which companies hire human resources managers in San Jose?
Companies currently hiring human resources managers in San Jose include T&T Supermarket, WD, and Aramark, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. San Jose's employer base skews heavily toward large technology firms, semiconductor manufacturers, and hospital systems, all of which maintain dedicated HR teams with ongoing hiring needs.
Are there remote human resources manager jobs in San Jose?
Yes, though remote availability depends on the role's focus, since employee relations, onboarding, and facilities-tied HR work typically require on-site presence. About 40% of human resources manager openings tied to San Jose are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the tech sector's flexible policies. Compensation and benefits strategy roles, along with HRIS and people analytics positions, are the most likely to offer fully remote arrangements locally.
How can I get a human resources manager job in San Jose with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in San Jose is moving into an HR manager role from a senior HR generalist or HR business partner position within the same company. San Jose's large tech campuses and hospital systems, including those in the Alum Rock and Evergreen areas, regularly promote internally and value candidates who already understand their workforce complexity. Volunteering to lead a recruiting initiative or California compliance project can accelerate that transition.
Which industries hire the most human resources managers in San Jose?
The sectors hiring the most human resources managers in San Jose are Investment & Asset Management, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. San Jose's position as the core of Silicon Valley means technology and semiconductor companies alone generate a disproportionate share of local HR demand, with healthcare systems adding steady volume year-round.
