Implementation Consultant Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a implementation consultant in Texas?
Most implementation consultant roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, business, or a closely related field. Texas does not issue a state license for this role, so employers focus on platform certifications instead, such as Salesforce Administrator, SAP Certified Associate, or Microsoft Dynamics credentials. Building hands-on experience through internships, IT support roles, or business analyst positions at Texas-based tech or healthcare firms is the most common entry path.
How much do implementation consultants make in Texas?
Implementation consultants in Texas earn a median of about $101,400 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $62,730 for the lowest 10% to over $168,420 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire implementation consultants in Texas?
Employers hiring implementation consultants in Texas right now include Phenom Cloud, Next Generation Inc. (NGI), and Baker Tilly Canada, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Texas's concentration of large healthcare systems, energy companies, and financial services firms means demand is steady across both boutique consultancies and major enterprise software vendors with regional offices in the state.
Which Texas cities have the most implementation consultant jobs?
Dallas, Texas, and Houston have the most implementation consultant openings in Texas. Dallas leads because of its dense cluster of corporate headquarters and regional offices for enterprise software companies, Houston's energy and healthcare sectors drive consistent demand for systems deployments, and Austin's technology industry generates strong need for cloud platform and SaaS implementation talent.
Are there remote implementation consultant jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 80% of implementation consultant openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the desk-based and platform-focused nature of much of the work. Discovery, configuration, and training phases are most likely to be conducted remotely, while go-live support and initial on-site workshops are the activities most likely to require a physical presence at a Texas client location.
How can I get hired as a implementation consultant in Texas with little or no experience?
Starting as a junior business analyst, IT support specialist, or help-desk technician at a Texas-based company is the most realistic entry path, because those roles expose you to the software systems implementation consultants deploy. Large Texas employers like Dell Technologies and healthcare systems such as HCA Houston Healthcare and Methodist Health System regularly bring on associate-level IT and operations staff who move into consulting tracks. Earning a Salesforce Administrator or Microsoft Dynamics Fundamentals certification before applying gives candidates a concrete, employer-recognized credential that offsets a thin resume.
Where can I find and apply to implementation consultant jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to implementation consultant jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings from employers actively hiring for the role. Find roles that fit your experience and specialization and apply directly through each listing.
